We all have days when we're feeling down or discouraged. But successful people are the ones who don't stay in that frame of mind. It's self-defeating. I've discovered that successful people each have their own way of breaking those self-defeating thoughts and feelings. For me, I first have to identify the lie (that's what it is). And my solution is always scriptural.
Here are some of God's promises that encourage me and keep me on track.
- For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans for good and not evil. To give you hope and a future.
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, cringing or fear), but He has given us a a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind, discipline and self-control.
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- For the Lord has given us the ability to produce wealth.
Sorry I didn't take time to look up the actual passages, but if anyone is interested, there's a great online bible at www.biblegateway.com. You can choose your translation; search by topic; search by keyword, etc.
I'll probably elaborate on this more, in a future post. But I'm interested in how you keep yourself motivated. I used scriptures, but I'd like to hear all the different methods and inspirational quotes from each of you. You can even post a comment, then your own blog with a link back to me if you want. (no pressure :P)
