Angie Hicks created Angie's List in 1995 to help consumers find good contractors and service providers. The way it works is members submit reports when they hire a service provider or contractor with feedback. Members are asked to submit a report when a they hire anyone from Angie's List The ratings are based on experience, price, quality of work, responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism and would you hire this company again. Members have unlimited access to the list. When you need a particular company you access the category and then are provided with a list of companies to choose from starting with those that have an average rating of A or B. In addition comments are available from the reports filed on a company to learn more about the experiences other have had with that company. Angie's List will also have your back if you have a problem with a company from the list. They will work with you and the company through their Complaint Resolution Service to resolve any issue. If the company does not respond they will end up in the Penalty Box where they will remain for 3 months.
As a member you will receive a monthly magazine with highlights, coupons, penalty box companies and great articles. Angie's List is available almost everywhere. I am a member of Angie's List and have found that when I call a contractor from the list I get a better response then when I call someone from and ad or coupon mailer.
