Real Bird Flies To The Top!

Janie Coffey introduced me to Real Bird over a year ago. To be totally truthful, I was very happy with Vflyer and did not see the need to change or add anything more to my plate so I just smiled and moved on. real Bird logo

Then I visited Real Bird again when Janie told me about their new mapping feature. Since we are listing agents I look for ways to get our listings in front of agents who work with buyers so the map thing did not do a whole lot to push to me to spend the time to work on making more online flyers.

We have a buyer's agent that we have kept quite busy with the leads we get through our Point 2 agent website and our IDX search on the website. She would like to stay a bit more close to home geographically so I was looking for ways to drill down longer tail to get her some more qualified buyers. So I put Real Bird on my list to try out. It stayed on my list for months.

Last week I noticed that Real Bird had a featured post on Active Rain. I thought I would check it out and this time I went, AHA! This is it! This may just be what I am looking for.

Real Bird has a way now to pull up listings through Google Base. Our MLS is not available to Real Bird yet, but some of your MLS may be hooked up.

When I first put the search widget in my post here
about a subdivision called Olympia here in Wellington Florida, I had a couple of glitches. It was late in the night as is par for the course for me. But I noticed that Gabe, from Real Bird, was located in Redwood City California right near where I was born. Since there is a 3 hour time difference I thought I would give it a chance and call him. He emailed me and called me right back. We then fixed the glitch and we had a great conversation about Real Bird and other important things like where Gabe is from. He is from Romania and he has a daughter who was just accepted to a University (just for starters).

Now I posted this post with keywords that are being searched via longtail. I added internal links so get more action from Google spiders, added a photo with alt image tags and then I added the specific keyword search for all the homes for sale just in Olympia subdivision in Wellington Florida. I then went about my business as usual, not giving this post much more thought.

Suddenly this weekend, we got 3 leads in a row from this Real Bird search widget on this particular post from people who are looking to buy a home in the Olympia subdivision in Wellington Florida. These leads were promptly sent over to Lisa, our buyers' agent and since 2 of these leads left their phone numbers ( an option) Lisa was able to call both of them!

Naturally I wondered where I stood in the SERPS because of this fast action. I was not surprised that this post along with others I had written about Olympia were on page 1 of Google SERPS and in the #5, #6. #8 and #10!

I am already adding more drilled down long tail keyword posts using the Real Bird search widget.
I don't expect the same results with all the neighborhoods because most are not even searched by consumers. This subdivision happens to have a good amount of Google search traffic to it. I am sure that the students in my SEO To The Top Webinar are going to be excited about these results.

Start using Real Bird today, click here to see what Real Bird has to offer. I will write some tutorials on how to get the most out of Real Bird. My favorite part is how easy and fast it is to use Real Bird.

Katerina,

I have played with Real Bird, but did not take it seriously not because of them, but because I did not spend enought time with it. you are giving me a great reason to revisit.

I had heard of it - but never checked it out - wondering what the cost is - a lot of these things add up over time - but need to spend money to make money!  Thanks

Cathy- IT IS FREE!

William and Cathy- There is an upgrade, you can pay 99 per year to have yours ad free. The free version comes with google adsense and looks like some banner ads from sponsors. But it it NOT intrusive. If you go to my post you will see the ads at the bottom. I paid the 99 to remove them after I made sure I like the service. If you use the link that I have in my post and in my comments I will get referral credits for whoever uses Real Bird through my link. Thanks a bunch:)

I've been emailing them too. I am hopeing to list a unique property that will need tons of exposure.

I say hopeing because the current listing agent has it 100K over priced, yep not a typo 100K over priced.

Glad you like it and appreciate you sharing your opinion.

My question about Realbird and SEO brought me here. I really want to investigate this versus what I have with Diverse Solution.

Loreena- It is not to take the place of IDX. You will not be able to use it instead of Diverse Solutions.

Thanks Katerina - I have signed up for the free version and have been playing around with Real Bird. What I am finding though is that some of the listing status are not accurate (some sold last year) or don't fall in the criteria that is being searched (either by neighborhood or search term, like Short Sale). I'll have to play around a bit more because I like the idea behind it and the look of the product, but don't want to put inaccurate info out there.

Hi Kim,

This is Zoltan from RealBird. Unfortunately, since the listing source is syndicated data, in some cases, there are inaccurate listings in the database. If you could forward us a sample, we have facilities to exclude the unreliable syndication sources from your service and increase the data quality for your market significantly. Regarding keyword filtering, like short sales only, I suspect that the problem might be that multi words searches are not placed between quotes to be treated as expressions, e.g. short sale should be entered and preset as "short sale" There are other options as well. Please contact us toll-free or via email and we can fine tune your settings to solve these issues.

Thanks
