Plaxo is a new product I use to stay in touch with my clients. It is not NEW, but it is new to me. Plaxo Tools

Plaxo 2.0 is a free download that synchronizes all your contacts and keeps them current. Don't ask me how it does it, that is better left to Karen George, Jeff Turner or Neal  Bloom. All I know is it is a great time saver and keeps all my data current on both my Desktop and Tablet P.C.

Plaxo integrate your calendars, tasks, notes in Outlook, 9 (which I use), or Outlook Express. The feature I use most is the tool bar for my Outlook. It updates my contacts when anyone in my data base updates there information so I am always current.

When I first started using Plaxio, it went through my Outlook Contacts and eliminated duplicate copies ( yes, it asks you first ) Since I have 3200 contacts in my Outlook, WOW that was that a time saver and it got rid of invalid emails for me. I've been wanting to do it for years.

I always send Birthday Cards to my clients, now it sends me an ALERT in my email and right from my desk top I can send them a birthday card on their birthdays.

Student Advocacy LogoI I serve on a non-profit board in Ann Arbor, MI called Student Advocacy Center. SAC, is a Advocate for children displaced from their school, either by Expulsion or Special Needs or a long Suspension.

One of the board members, birthday is today. I had this response in my email today.

This is so sweet of you, Missy!  Thank you incredibly much! How did you know it was my birthday.  Do you have the re-sponsibility of making dear cards for Board Members on their birthdays?  (I'm 73 -- Ruth, believe it or not, is 4 1/2 years older.)   I'll remember this for however many more years I'll be alive.  (My daughter insists that I live till I'm 103, because I just remortgaged my house for 30 years.  I'm trying to see if I can pay it off in 20.  I'll be only 93 then.                                       Love,  March

The card I had sent her was just to honor her. You know at our age, we don't get lots of cards from friends or associates that we know. Our clients love us when we remember them. I have found using Plaxo keeps me organized and not so forgetful. Once again, it sync's automatically. Nothing to do once you download Plaxo. I found it so helpful, I pay for the Premium Service which is only 49.00 per year.

If you read the comment from Marcha, you'll know her age, so mention it in your comments.

Hi Missy,

Thanks for the mention but I didn't even know I have been using Plaxo?

Maybe there is another Neal Bloom the impostor? LOL!

Maybe I signed up for it? HUMM. Well thanks for mentioning. Or are you talking about following up with my clients. If that is the case I use my palm as in Palm and I do not mean a palm pilot ..I actually write notes on my palm.

Stephanie, top producer is fine, but if you ever drop them it is a hassle to get all your important data.

Plaxo is free and easy if you use OUTLOOK. Which I have for 8 years.

I dumped Plaxo a couple of years ago, it kept locking up my Outlook.  Sounds like I might need to check it out again, the platform has surely been improved since then! =)

Hi Missy,

Thanks for the tip--this is the first time I've heard about Plaxo but you can bet I will give it a try.  How did I get along before I joined ActiveRain?

Hi Missy - I've gotten requests from others who use Plaxo updating their contact info on me.  I didn't realize there was much more to that program.  Maybe I'll have to check it out myself.  Thanks for the tip!

Ann and Jeannette,  Ashley sent me a card. You just go to the cards, a post  card is what she used. Or you can create one. Put in your data and upload it then attach to your email, Not with a link but the card actually comes up. You know realtors will not open a link they will just delete. I haven't tried it but I will.

All these high tech systems... Contact management has been on my to-improve list for years.  Maybe I will download the free program and give it a try.

Dan, go for it, I am happy with it. I use Outlook. The key to good contact management is to find one you like and stick to it. I heard a coach say that once and it is true. Organizing our contacts is so important.

Missy:

As always you have great things you utilize on the internet.  I will look into Plaxo - thanks for sharing.  I enter birthdays, anniversarys etc. into Outlook and get alerts so that I can send things to my clients.  I am always looking for opportunities to have them keep me in mind.

Cathy, I do the same for my past clients. Then use a product called emaila card. But this is for contacts that I haven't actually sold a house to that are in my sphere of influence.

I've been using Plaxo for a year or so.  I love it.  I have it so my assistant is on the same Plaxo as me so as she updates her data base in outlook mine is automatically updated.  If I update my calander, her calander is automatically updated and this works for the task too!

Now lets go one step further, plaxo now will update to some phones.  I have the Treo so I can't but I can simply sync by bluetooth or usb.

So my phone, my tablet, desktop and assistants desktop are all in sync because of one plaxo account.

Missy, just download Plaxo to all the computers you want to have the same information.  Once Plaxo is downloaded, use the same username and password.  That's it!!

Somethings are just to easy.  I stumbled across that.

Let me ask you about another time saver, do you use a website like callwave so your faxes go to all these computers too.  My assistant and I rec. all the same faxes.  If it's for an agent, I simply forward it to the agent by email. If its about a file, I just Save to the file.  no printing needed.

Do you use callwave so your voicemail goes to your email?  How many times are we in the car listening to mssages and want to write it down.  Well that has been solved, callwave will send your messages to your phone and your email.  I love it, most of all, it's free!!!  Wait, I forward the office phones to my cell on the weekends, if a call comes for an agent, I simply forward the meeage to the agent by email.  They can hear the message on their email too!!

I have a PDF that I can type on.  I print the message time information to the pdf.  So I can type on the mesage, the response and what I did, then save it to the file, (my office is paperless) and never print a thing.  I have a good record of every voice mail that comes through.  No more little pieces of paper.

Thanks for the post.  I just downloaded plaxo and this will be a help to me.  I came upon your post via another post  about outlook.  Active Rainers are so helpful.  It would take ions of years to find all these resources and they are all right here!
