Antioch has been one of the most challenged markets in East Contra Costa County. Home Buyers can find excellent Homes in Antioch at bargain prices, but we are running out of homes. These numbers are pulled from the MLS on May 11, 2009 and focus on Single Family Homes.

In April 213 homes sold in Antioch. The Average Price of those Antioch homes sold was $190,263.00 and the Median Price was $175,000.00. The homes sold spent an average of 53 days on the market and the average price per SF was $99.00.

These March Figures are little different than Last Months Market Report due to late reporting on the MLS. In March 225 homes sold in Antioch. The Average Price of those Antioch Homes sold was $195,414.00 and the Median Price was $190,000.00. The homes sold spent an average of 59 days on the market and the average price per SF was $100.00.

The key figure to pay attention to is the average price per SF. There is not much difference from March to April. The average price continues to drop slowly, but there are some troubling figures with what is currently on the market.

As of today there are 297 homes on the market. The average asking price is $218,891.00 and the median asking price is $210,000.00. The average home has been on the market 94 days and the average asking price per SF is $113.00. The fact that we have less than one and a half months of homes on the market and the average asking price on the homes is down close to the average sales price.

Many of these homes are Bank Owned and the banks are starting to put the brakes on the prices

Each home is unique and if you want an evaluation of your home please let me know.
