22 Comments on Fewer Comments on Posts-Why?
I see my numbers and I'm amazed at the number of readers to my posts. . only a small percentage takes the time to write a comment.
Not only is everyone's time split facebooking and twittering, but the market has gotten extremely busy... so far as I now there still are only 24 hours in a day(lol)! sooo, there is just not enough time to do it all and still get some shut eye.
Midori - great points! People are reading and that is what is important. I have been guilty of leaving comments in places other than AR about AR posts.
Midori--the important thing is that they see our name and know we are still living, breathing and most important involved in real estate. Why does Budweiser pay millions to advertise during the Super Bowl?
Too much to look at and not enough time to comment. I know that a typical AR session has started to become a 2 hour commitment, and there are other things that need to get done. I've also seen some people doing their thing very late at night or early in the morning, just to get it done.
I also think, in addition to this, that there is more and more content being posted everyday, and with a bigger selection to choose from, comments will begin to dwindle.
I got me here from Twitter :)
Midori --- I just looked at my statistics yesterday on AR and was amazed at how few comments as compared to the # of views ---hadn't thought about the other sources. Thanks.
Activerain is my primary source of contact and I try to reciprocate comments.

Midori - an intesting concept that I hadn't thought of. However, I also think it is because of the way posts or prioritized now. Before, anytime a comment was made the original post made it back to the top of the queue. Now, it is a FIFO (First In, First Off - the page that is) regardless of the number of comments, especially on the high activity groups.
Funny you should say that. I have so many friends and family on facebook that are not here and comment on facebook. Its great and I am happy that its goes there!
Midori, my thought is also that it is the height of the busy season and we just do not have as much time to read and comment as we did in the winter.
I've been busy and I try to be on Twitter in the AM and Facebook at night, but this is home. So facebook has to wait tonight, I needed to check on my family here in the rain, you being one of them.
Not only have I been getting fewer comments, but I am seeing fewer comment worthy posts. I don't think FaceBook and Twitter have anything to do with that...
Thanks for the post. I agree with Joan, people are getting busy and there isn't much time to go to different sites.
While there are no points for views and clicks...we got 3 short sale listings in a week clicking and viewing....or ranking and twitting or who cares where...it works !
Midori - Things are busy and our main focus is to list and sell. If you have a good message, like you do, take pleasure knowing you've contributed it. Your contribution is appreciated even if there aren't many comments.
Midori - I had been noticing fewer comments as well. I also know that I have been splitting my time a lot more between FB, Twitter, and Linkedin as well as AR. This means less time for commenting.
My comments are down. I hope that it because I took some time off, not because my content qualify is dropping. It may be I need to write better stuff.

Hi Midori...I noticed this when you posted it but was too busy to read and comment then. That happens alot. Sometimes I get back and sometimes I don't.
I seldom check on Twitter or Facebook but do find my friends and family tend to comment on my posts directly to my either by phone or e-mail.
I'm commenting less, posting less, and receiving fewer comments. Hopefully it means everyone else is busier too.
