The Knowles Team in Seattle, WA Gives Back to the Community

By
Real Estate Agent with Metro Real Estate LLC

The Knowles Team is grateful for the business opportunities our clients provide us.  We are honored to be trusted by so many home buyers and home sellers.

Part of our mission statement and our operating philosophy is to contribute our time, effort, and money to our community.  We recognize community creates a strong fabric which connects us to our fellow neighbors, work colleagues and business partners.  That truth rings even more clearly in tough economic times.

Many individuals, families, and businesses are struggling like never in their memories.  It is the invisible strands of community that provides that moment of support just when it is needed.

Accordingly, the Knowles Team steps forward in many ways.  Some of our contributions are small; some are large; some will go unheralded; some will be announced.

This is a summary of our announced contributions.  Thank you for the opportunity to do so!

The Knowles Team has a moving truck we make available to our clients at no charge.  Click here to see the truck!  Importantly, we also allow charitable organizations to use our truck for free too!  For example, Just Between Friends (JBF), a clothing consignment organization, has used our truck on a number occasions to transport the donated clothes. Make sure you contact us if your organization could use our truck! Call Erika at 425-282-6204.

The Knowles Team sponsors or contributes to the following organizations.  If you have any suggestions for us, please let us know!

  • Conduct, at no charge, 1st Time Buyers Seminars under the auspices of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission
  • Sponsor the Money Wise Women Conferences
  • Support JBF Consignments
  • Support Domestic Abused Women Network (DAWN)
  • Conduct, at no charge with a lot of fun, Cashflow Game Nights where people, young and old learn about financial principles

Sheryl volunteers her time at a local hospice.  She visits people who are to be on this Earth for only a few more weeks or months.  What begins as two strangers evolves quickly into comradeship.  Sometimes she reads to her "folks"; sometimes she simply holds their hand; sometimes she quietly rests her hand on their thin, wrinkly forearm.  But she always comforts them by letting them know they are not alone.  She ends her visits by saying that she'll see them in a few days.  Sometimes she does and other times she is not given that opportunity.

She recently completed her tenure as President of the Women's Council of Realtors® in the Seattle area.

In April 2009, Sheryl was selected as a Director on the Washington Association Realtors®.

She has also been appointed as a Council Member for the Burien Parks and Recreation Department.

Sherry is the Chairperson of the SWKC Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee which provides an outreach program for local businesses.

She is also Secretary of Association of Condominium Residents, Inc.

(ACRI) which represents the condo associations located in Des Moines.

Robby is a Board Member of Denny Creek Neighborhood Alliance.

He just completed the second annual "Spring Clean Up Day" on 3rd Ave S in Kirkland. Using our truck, he collects items that are then taken to a charitable organization.

He also volunteers his time and energy with national personal growth companies such as T. Harv Eker's Peak Potentials Training and Mark Victor Hansen.

Jim is the President of the Hurstwood Community Club.

His is also Hurstwood's Chairperson of the Disaster Preparation Committee.  Should you wish to establish disaster preparation plans for your own neighborhood call Jim at 206-242-1088. He'll give you all of the information.  All of the materials are available at no charge from your county emergency prep office.

He and Sheryl also participate in the annual Burien Clean-Sweep Day.

There is a saying:  Givers Gain.  Based on our experience, we know that to be true.  The act of giving has a measurable impact on each of us personally and sometimes even on the receiver!  Our giving is not just financial.  Many times it is something more valuable ... our time and energy.

We are blessed for the opportunity.  Our hope is that you too can find the joy we have by helping our community.

The Knowles Team is available to help you with your real estate questions, answer your questions about financial stress, and to lend an ear if that's all you need!
