I was talking to my father yesterday about the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog and he mentioned that he wasn’t completely comfortable explaining to his friends how the whole “RSS” thing worked. So I figured it might be a good time to dust off the blog post I wrote in December covering the topic “What is an RSS Subscription” and review the basics.
If you know of a good blog that you would like to read on a regular basis, you should find its Subscription Button that encourages you to subscribe to it. If you look in the right sidebar of the ,Tallahassee Real Estate Blog you will see the following symbols:
The orange person sitting on the park bench is what you would select if you wanted to read the blog in an RSS Reader (more to follow on that in a moment), the center picture allows you to follow my “tweets” on Twitter, and the envelope on the right is the option you would choose if you wanted the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog delivered to your email every day. Many people choose that option, as their is nothing else that needs to be done but check email.
Most people have not become comfortable with the subscription process and purpose, so this will be a simple “how and why” article to hopefully move you forward to being better organized in your reading and researching on the internet. [click to continue…]

Thanks for the simple explanation of RSS. Your blogs are always full of great information.
Thank you Colleen. Don't you think it is funny that none of us understand RSS, and yet RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication?"
