The Federal Housing Administration will permit its lenders to let home buyers use the $8,000 First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit as a down payment.

Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Shaun Donovan, informed Realtors(R) at the Real Estate Summit that the changes they have been asking for will go into effect and further help new buyers purchase a home.

Mike - I don't know if you've noticed, but they seem to be having some conflicting issues with the downpayment coming for the tax credit. I'm sure it will be resolved, but it's sure not being handled weel by the government right now.
