Trying to price a Home...

Dinah Loves Being Home!

Home is truly where the heart is... or should be. I have heard a lot of talk about equity and investment and value.

Value is where you see it. What one may think is wonderful another may not.

I choose to see my home as a place to leave our troubles at the door.Where a hot pot of coffee is waiting to wake you up in the morning. A place to laugh at silly thoughts.A place to cry with one another when there is a loss. A home is where you can be who you are. Where you are excepted regardless of imperfections.

A home is not just a building of walls and beams...it is a place to live and find your dreams!

Pricing a home is one of the hardest things to do.  There are so many variables and upgrades that mean something to one person won't mean diddley to the next.

Ah Dinah Lee, this is the trap many a homeowner falls into. We have to logicallylook at facts. Not the emotions. Many sellers confuse memories for value. We can't be fooled into that type of analysis...

Paul- Good point. I do not plan to sell my home because I am sentimental. Home is where you are. When it does come to selling keep in mind that it is not the price you get but the memories you got. That is what I think of every time I write the check to my mortgage company. Values will go up and even though it may not be where I wish it was..I have everything I wanted when I purchased this home for my family-Dinah Lee

Dinah Lee,

I tend to agree with Paul. Emotions need to be left at the door when doing an evaluation.

If we can get people to actually believe that a house is a place to live and find your dreams, instead of something to be bought and sold every couple of years like stocks and bonds, we'll have a better real estate market and economy.
