I've been using blogger for a while and am very pleased. That thing about forgetting your website altogether is very true. Mike C

I am there. I just went and looked and I am ready to sign up. Seems they have lots of good information to learn and sounds like it might also be user friendly. My kind-a-site,LOL

Great Post.

Blogs are great, however if you want a good ranking site you do not see them anywhere near the top when using search engines.

Thats why everyone tries to get a .com over a .net

I may be wrong, but those are my first thoughts on the matter of giving up a regular website for a blog.

However I am curious if there is another side to this that I'm not aware of.

Just when your getting the hang of things now your telling us to get rid of the website thing. I do personally, like this blog stuff better. I seem to get to my clients faster. Maybe instead of a full blown website just a front page to take you to the blog... I don't know. Thanks for the heads up. Great Post.

So true. Most RE websites are horrible anyway. Scrap the website, you just need a blog. Forget using Blogger or other free sites, why not create your own site? There are so many options out there now. Why rent, when you can buy? The scary thing is, if you don't you'll get left behind. Your competition is probably creating their own blog right now. Set yourself apart...

Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Xoops...all allow you to create your own site, for free. To me, if I'm spending a ton of time entering content, I want access and control of this content. I also want a site that I can brand with my own info and advertising. I want it to be my own. Mine, mine, mine!

Search engines love blogs. So right out of the gate a blog will give you that advantage. Plus having your own site, allows you to promote it and help people find it. A blog also allows people to give you feedback. Your information is archived and organized. Now days there are plugins and modules that let your blog do almost anything: video, audio, friends, profiles, polls, private messaging, message boards, social networking, RSS feeds, classifieds, etc.

So make sure to check out other options besides just Blogger. The web has become extremely interactive...your old website is not interactive.
