Glynn County has a very diverse economy made up of tourism, a growing port facility, a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, 4 year college, technical school, industrial plants and a healthy mix of retirees. The area enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate. The average temperature is 68.4 degrees and average rainfall of 54.7 inches per year. Glynn County offers over 14 miles of beaches and 225 holes of golf, boating and historical sites.
The four islands that make the Golden Isles are Saint Simons Island (with historical sites and attractions and beaches), Little Saint Simons island (private island accessible by boat where you can canoe, kayak and ride horses), Sea Island (home of the Cloister and site of the G8 Summit) and Jekyll Island (state owned with beaches, 20 miles of bike paths and the Summer Waves Water Park).
