Have you ever had someone ask you a question that you didn't really know the answer to, so you just kind of hummed and hawed?   I don't know about anyone else, but I find it takes a lot of time to keep up with everything online.  I know that there are some people that spend a lot of time online, and then they write how they've had so many transactions, it just doesn't jive.  Even the best multi-taskers still need to get off the computer to show houses.

I was asked how some people seem to be online all day, and still have time do their work of selling Real Estate?

Depending on the person and what their goals are you can manage both.  Many people have built time into their Marketing Plans for using Social Media sites and Blogging.  It's all about the ROI-Return on Investment for each person.  Knowing why we're online can answer the question of if we're on "too much".

Now as far as my time online....I diversified my time.  I have been asked to do a guest blog on a Photography site, wrote a Twitter Landing Page, commented on several people's blogs on Active Rain and off as well as wrote a new Squidoo Lens.  I updated my website, and worked on trying to improve my blog.

Lil Devil-If you are just online to have fun, then complain about business Get off the computer!  As they say on Twitter....."Mosey on now" ......

Lil Angel-When someone asks me how I can do everything I do online, I am honest with myself. If we aren't honest with ourselves then how in the world can we be honest with others?

Lil Devil- I have a lot to do today.....so you'll just have to ge read something else.....I'm busy!

Lil Angel- Hope everyone has a good day, I have to get off and get going........but before I go let me give you a great tool I found for writing your blogs, and an example of a Landing Page I made over the week-end for my Twitter Account (worth a look and easy to make).

FREE Blogging Tool: . I found  this program that makes writing for my Blog(s) so much easier.. It's a FREE program from Microsoft, but you have to have Windows XP in order for it to run properly (my understanding  but not positive) The Program is called Windows Live Writer and like I said, you can download it for free.

I have a tutorial for the Live Writer Program on a Post I wrote on Twitterqueens...I know, what's Twitterqueens...that's another story, anyway if you go here you can also learn how to make a great landing page.  I made mine for Twitter, but you can make it for anything, and again this saves time and puts all your sites in one spot that you have control over.  Here's my Twitter Landing Page.

Lil Devil- Alright alright you just gave 2 great tips for how to use your time better.....now get off the computer!

Lil Angel- Sorry no time to look for a graphic....See you all later, and have a great day :)

Kathy it is easy to get carried away on line, but we have to keep remembering that business comes first, and then this if we have time.

I know what you mean about some being on line all day long, I wonder how they ever do business.

Hi Kathy, I can certainly identify with what you have said. Here is a link for you. Scribfire. Check it out it works so well with Firefox and it is free as well. Maybe better have both.

Kathy, I use both Scribefire as Bill was talking about and Windows livewriter. I have not done a great twitter landing page, but will look at what you wrote and try. Great post!

Kathy, Windows live writer works with Windows Vista also.  I used to use it to make my posts have colored text and somehow A.R. did not like all of the variety and made wash out the HTML that Live Writer wrote when you went to copy and paste the text.  It's true!  Jim Frimmer told me about Window's live writer, he actually wrote detailed blogs about how to sign up and use it in conjunction with A.R.   But it just does not work when you want to use the colored text anymore  :(

Hi Gita- thanks for coming by and reading these musings :)

George- Yep, I know I have to make myself get off sometimes especially when reading & enjoying friends :)

William- I just clicked it and it says Live Writer, is this different than the one I have?

Hi Kathy - So how does this work? You write your post in Live Writer, then transfer somehow to AR? I've only ever written my posts in AR....

Debi- Yes, that is exactly how it works....I haven't tried it with AR yet, just my other Blog, but it should work.  You can use it for multiple blogs, it is really a great program, and I think you will love it.  Wait Jane said she used it for AR :)  And you will love the photo part of it which gives you more options than AR does.

Hi Jan- I just realized I put the link to the How to Make a Landing Page, but you have to find the link to it, so here you go: Kathy McGraw's Twitter Page .  Let me know when you have yours done...I love looking at the creativity of others :)

Thesa- Very funny...nope didn't have enough time;  someone is making me finish my blogging assignments, and I had responsibilities :)  So no picture on this Post :)

Kathy,
You manage your time better than anyone I know!  My online time just seems to be getting squeezed out more and more.  Does Live Writer work with Vista?

Cynthia-

Hi my friend, Jane above said she used it with Vista and used it for AR Blogs.  I haven't tried it with AR but will add it, as you can have more than one blog set up on the program.  It really is a good one for saving drafts, formatting, then at the click of a button you send it directly to your Blog when you're ready.  Sweet :)

Kathy, when we have business with buyers, sellers or transactions under way that is our first priority IMO. As you can tell I have not been able to post much lately. Yikes but I must work when work is here.

I have asked myself that very questions many times. I am on all the time when I am not busy with RE but not so much when I am busy.

There is life out from the computer.  I do spend a lot of time connected if not on the computer via a smart phone.  But like Missy said when I need to get some RE done.... I have no problem getting out from the computer!

Missy- Yes, I've noticed many of us aren't on as much, which hopefully is a good thing. You said we must "work when work is here" now isn't that the truth. Our clients should always be our priority during the times we've allocated for work, and that in itself is a balancing act.  My personal time management allows me unlimited access to the computer up till 9am.....then from 9-10:30 it is only for work, like Winforms. There's so much to get done and it's easy to get lost in all these Social Media and other Networking Platforms.  I cheat sometimes and sneak back onto a blog or 2....:)

Nannette-If anyone wanted to see some of the "life off the computer" all they have to do is go to your Flickr Photo stream.  You have such wonderful photos of life in and around your town. Balance :)

Kathy, My time here and online has been less and less and I'm trying to make it count!  Thanks for the suggestion (and I HOPE my computer is up to a download--it's almost as tired as I am right now :)  If you don't see me, you'll know what happened!

Kathy,

Really nice Twitter Home Page.  That whole work/life balance is so important, it keeps us able to make real connections with people and know how to truly socialize.  No one should feel bad about that.

Hi Carole- We all are trying to figure out how to best use our time, and hopefully your computer will be able to handle the download :)

Rebecca- Thanks...and yes balance is the key.  With all the changes to my business I have to really figure out who and what is the most important to me online :)  I see some people have left some sites, and gravitated to others.  We all find our balance.....Thanks for the compliment on my Twitter Home Page.

Hi Kathy - Lately I seem to be failing at time management and balance.  Constantly trying to work that out.  Sometimes I succeed better than others.  Thanks for the tips.
