I am sitting at my computer and looking outside and it is raining. I have an open house today and from past experience I do not expect many people . I like to be optimistic but this is in a 55plus community where I have not had much luck even in good weather.

I will still have to spend two hours there as I have advertised and you never know when someone will come or who the buyer will be.

I have not seen people advertise an open house with 'rain date' . But that is a thought.

Another idea I have is from now on I will advertise, ' free umbrella if it rains.limited supply.' I can buy some inexpensive ones from a catalog. I will look into this.

 

When you read about events please check the year for the event as some people find information a year later and think it is for that year. . The posts remain online even after the event.

This is a very creative idea... perhaps the dollar store has some umbrellas... or, perhaps you can use the colorful small umbrellas that they use on the fancy drinks!  (lol)  You could put the little umbrellas on top of a cupcake!

Indeed...what a great idea. Sorry Sally Hanson burst our bubble about having our names printed on them....'cuz I already came up with the marketing slogan....

"My REALTOR has me covered! Does Yours?"  How cool is that? Sally probably knows if she was in the promo business, but if you search long enough, you might find something.

Also, what about rain ponchos? Maybe they would be cheaper, and would do the same thing...and might get carried to a sporting event ,etc....

Hmmm...now I  just need some money to buy these things...LOL!

 Giving out Ponchos is a great idea. I have purchased them at the dollar store and keep them handy ever since we ended up paying for them at a baseball game. Thank you.

I will let every one if I find a company that will print our logo etc.

Bill, It gives an opportunity for agents to send their buyers. I get to meet other neighbors, I like to do my best to get people to come and look at the house knowing I only need one buyer who likes the house. It usually depends on the price of the house and location. But if the weather is bad people do not show up.

I used to buy them at the dollar store and give them out at open houses if it started to rain while they were inside. Then I laminated a card and connected it to the end with a rubber band. Made a great giveaway for under $2.
