Mortgage Interest Rates Up - OUCH!!

According to a national survery of large lenders, the average 30 yr fixed-mortgage rate is 6.42%... the highest it has been in 16 weeks! This is with an average total of 0.26 discount and origination points. It was 6.26% just a week ago.

Customers still have the option of buying down the rates with more points up front.
