Outsource Your Skills and You Will Outsource Your Job

Reblogger South Austin Real Estate Blog
Real Estate Agent with Sky Realty South Austin

This is one good way to learn to help yourself with building a Revelant website.  Check it out and remember that on this past Saturday, NAR went not in favor of the frontline REALTOR, but tabled for 6 long months something that is beneficial to all Realtors, now 3rd party sites definitely can get the upper hand with our information and sell it back to us.

Times are changing, no let me say they have changed. With all of the recent blogs and concerns with NAR and the core idx and people expressing concerns about non real estate agent sites getting in our way. The time has come to build a better agent.

The idea that someone else can prospect for you or market your homes for you in my opinion does not hold water, and I see proof of this everyday. Outsource your skills and you will outsource your job.

I have a feeling that so many people have such strong feelings about what went down over the past week with NAR and national sites that are not owned by real estate agents, because of what we lack. I will admit my self that I am concerned with the fact that my SEO skills are not that of big million dollar websites. What I do know is that these concerns and fears are rooted in the fact that the every day real estate agent does not know much about SEO.

This firestorm of activity is our wake up call. The best thing that we a s real estate agents can do for our selves is to build a community of skilled web marketers. What has happened as the web came to life has scared me. Great real estate agents did not know how important it was to start learning the skills necessary to market their products online. We all know some big sites came in to feed the information hunger of the consumer. We as a profession as a whole have dropped the ball. Is there blame maybe, maybe not. I do feel like there has been some lack of leadership from some of our organizations, but I am not here to attack them. I am here to say that it is time to act.

Selling real estate is marketing and advertisement along with negotiations and unless we want companies to get between us and our clients we as a community are going to have to get better with our web skills. That void of information is being filled by only a few. The way I see it there is a great deal of room for real estate agents to rise to the occasion and start building strong websites and blogs.

If we as real estate agents do not build and support our own websites we will not control our own destiny. Imagine a life where you will have to rely on brokered leads. I have yet to find an agent that is happier buying leads than generating their own. I have yet to see a business model that works long term with buying leads. The best leads in my opinion are leads that real estate agents generate on their own websites. Why? Well, think about this; with a brokered lead you buy, that person never had a chance to get to know you before you called or emailed. where the connection? A lead that comes in through an agents web site has has the opportunity to get to know you, and see that you are an expert in your area. When people visit your site or your blog they get a change to get to know who you are. Now when you call them they have an idea of who is on the other line. We have forgotten that they are not just leads, they are people who want to find the right agents to help them buy a home. We often get frustrated, but we are not offering the kind of information that gives us a chance. The reason no websites with personal look and feel that demonstrate our expertise.

There is simply no substitute to having a site that speaks your words.

This is where we have been missing the most valuable point of all. I see agents with many years of experience, real professionals that I admire. When I can get them to speak through their website or blog I just helped them offer the consumer the most valuable information they can find. You cannot buy that kind of lead generating power from someone else, you have to do it your self or get help doing it your self.

We nee to understand with all the listing syndication and lead brokering that their is nothing more powerful that your voice through your own website.

That is why I just published this guide for real estate agents who want to learn how to better their web presence. I am a working real estate agenst just like you working to generate leads and close deals, I just decided to share what I know to be valuable.

When you buy this book you will to ask me an other agents who have been successful on the web questions you have about building your web site and increasing your Internet exposure.

You can have a great site with a can or template site you just need to know how to do it. That is what book will tell you.
