It's summer in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.  Winter seems like a lifetime away.  Last January I wrote about showing houses in minus 39 degree weather but I can forget all about it now.  I was looking for the AC switch in the car yesterday as I showed a Park City, Utah buyer around the valley.

The photo below of Hatcher Pass is one of the many photos my daughter Teressa has taken of our area.  Click here to see a few more.   She takes some great photos, Ok...so I'm a little biased.

I just ran across a great video of the Mat-Su Valley, it's a little touristy, (a new word I think), but still showcases the area nicely.

It's easy understand why people live here in the summer but you really have to like winter as well.  As you can see from the winter photos through the windows of this Glacier Chalet, winter is beautiful too.  And you can go places in the winter time that you just can't get to in the summer.  The Mountain Man Rondezvous is a case in point.

Danny, thanks for stopping by.  Somedays you can see hundreds of miles, but there is some haze in that photo, probably from forest fires.
