CITY OF CHINO HILLS PRESS RELEASE PR09 - 059 Contact: Valerie McClung Denise Cattern (909) 364-2618 (909) 364-2615 Date: May 14, 2009 PLAN A "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT" EVENT IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD Get your neighborhood involved and plan an activity in support of the 26th annual National Night Out (NNO) on August 4th. A kick-off meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18th at the James S. Thalman Chino Hills Library Community Room, 14020 City Center Drive. NNO coordinator, Bonnie Michaels can help you with ideas and activities to plan your own neighborhood event. National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 4th across the nation when neighbors gather together in support of crime and drug prevention. To get involved, all you have to do is turn on your porch light from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. (It won't be dark at 7:00 p.m. but the time is symbolic for the NNO event!). Get your neighbors together and spend the evening outdoors. Plan an ice cream social or a barbecue and have activities for the children. Residents who plan & register an event by July 20th will receive an event organizing kit that includes a NNO t-shirt, glow sticks, and temporary tattoos for the kids (while supplies last). Deputies and City Council Members will visit registered neighborhood events throughout the evening on National Night Out on August 4th. For more information, please call (909) 364-2730.
