I recorded this screencast earlier today when i was searching for something with my wife.

I thought it was a very good representation of the value of posting on free sites like craigslist, kijiji and backpage

You can see here, the posting is several months old, but it still got me to them as a supplier for what I was looking for (iron fences), why are you not doing the same for your business?

Usually I found out that Craigslist ads will show up and when you click. .the ad will be expired.

Riel...great example. What has been your experience with a firm like this one reposting the same wrought iron ad for months. Do you know if at some point it is discarded due to search engines recognizing that it is no longer fresh content?

Fernando:  Pretty sure you can keep them fresh by renewing them, but ... the point is that they're showing up in the index, where your site may not be ranking as well.

Sergio: I have no experience, but my instinct would be to "switch it up" a bit with each ad so it didn't get stale as you say.  But really ... I bet it wouldn't matter.  The point is more that a guy in Ontario, can come up 1st for a search in Vancouver with a specific enough product like this.

That is a great example, I did not think a singel ad would be pushed to the top of a SE.
