Through all of this mortgage mess, I have realized one very disturbing fact.  The people who are doing the right thing, paying their bills, but struggling to do it, are the ones who are getting screwed!  YEAH....I SAID IT SCREWED OVER!!!  THESE BANKS AND THIS PROCESS SUCK!!!

I was on the phone with a short sale negotiator yesterday, and he told me that he did not know if my client short sale was going to be approved because their situation was not bad enough!!  What....!! Not bad enough!!!!

Are you kidding me?? What has to happen here... people are forced to make themselves appear destitute to get any help.... He says to me "If we made it easy, everyone would do it"   WHAT!! You are making it easy IDIOT!!!   You are taking someone who is trying to do the right thing and ENCOURAGING THEM TO DO THE WRONG THING!!!   and our lawmakers shot down the "Cram Down" legislation because they thought it would make people file for bankruptcy... DOES ANYONE REALLY WANT THEIR CREDIT IN THE TOILET???

THE IDIOTS AT THE BANKS ARE FORCING PEOPLE INTO A SITUATION THEY WOULD RATHER AVOID BY TELLING THEM......THEY ARE NOT BAD OFF ENOUGH FOR HELP!!!!! So, someone who may need a little help...what do they do..THEY TAKE THE PLUNGE...AND STOP PAYING FOR ANYTHING..SO THEY CAN GET HELP!!!!!

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated in my FRENCHING, life!!!

You are so right. The problem is the folks that want to be up front and do the right thing are encouraged to commit fraud in order quaify for anything. Welcome to liberal America.

Konnie, its very unjust when the ones who are making the bills, CONGRESS, are not even on the same page as someone who makes $35-50,000 a year with a family.  Its disgusting that CONGRESSPEOPLE go up to the hill and sit there the rest of their lives and lose touch with the people they were elected to serve.

Hi Connie, it is frustrating!  The banks want good borrowers to go into default before they allow a short sale and then turn around when they wish to purchase an affordable home and evaluate the short sale as a foreclosure.

Konnie, rant away! I'm trying to refi our home. I've been a model citizen and bill payer. Quote the mortgage guy, "your income is a little down last year". Yeah? Well tell me who the *+(&*%^<!"s wasn't?????

Konnie - It seems tome that our societies moral compass is taking an unfortunate turn.  Moral people are making the decision to go back on their word, feeling others have gone back on their word.  The whole situation sucks. some people have no choice over letting their home go.  They can't cut it.  But others let them go over a lesser of two evils analysis.... and in other times they would not have made that choice, feeling it wasn't moral.

This whole situation sucks on so many levels.  We've lost confidence in banks, we've changed our moral compass, and we've all lost money.  AND we'll all be paying for it for years to come.  Crap.

Konnie -

Having just been told that my home value is down 70,000 from when I purchased it twy years ago, so I can;t take advantage of the fed refi opportunity, even though my husband was out of work for 4 months and I was out of work for 5 last year, and we STILL managed to pay all our bills including our mortgage on our depreciated home..... for me, I've had to face the fact that no matter how hard I try, I will never be able to rely on the banking/finance industry to support me. Having started my own business during all the turmoil, I'm taking things into my own hands. Rant away for all us little guy types who are trying to do the right thing and being hammered for it...

Konnie:  Boy do I feel your pain!  The banks really do force folks into a corner.  It is utterly absurb.  Why do folks have to miss mortgage payments to get help?  Isn't it more helpful to the bank to keep getting that money in the interim?  Just remember, most of those folks you talk to at the bank are paid $8/hour to piss you off.  They are the speed bumps and know-nothings in the process.  Don't let them get to you.

Konnie, tell us how your really feel. I have been involved w/Countrywide on a short sale for almost 1 year and they are putting my hard working client through a nightmare of a process. These banks just don't get it and I'm glad to hear your rant because there are a ton of people out there trying to do the right thing and they are being penalized.

Its the liberal culture that is causing this and apparently about 51% of voters were willing to "gamble" with a leftist politician with 0 experience so this is just the tip of the iceberg. Expect more helping those that won't try and less common sense for the next 3.6 years. Before you can be rebuilt as a good socialist you have to be beat down with nothing left.

Breathe...Breathe...Relax and Breathe! Now that you are calm, welcome to my nightmare. 30 of my 34 current listings are short sales. I deal with this backwards kind of thinking for several hours each morning. The only peace that I find in it is that I am helping my clients get on with their life. Several have told me that their stress level went way down after bringing me on the deal with their homes. That makes it worth the trouble.

I completely agree with you as well. My husband is also quite frustrated as well. The banking system makes no sense what so ever right now. It is very frustrating for all borrowers! Thanks for venting for us, we all feel the same as you!

THanks for the comments..I am pretty fired up this morning.....my clients are having a hard time..and if their short sale does not get approved...they have no other choice but foreclosure....that is rediculous.

Konnie - You hit the nail right on the head!  I know one couple who have not made their payments in almost 2 years.  work for Cash and keep it in the mattress - so nothing shows - and they are living rent free!  This is not fair!
