This event will potentially be the Largest REBarCamp ever!  The BIG DADDY of them all!  Last I checked there were over 450 RSVP's, and more than 30 Corporate Sponsors.  I remember attending the very first REBarCamp in San Francisco, then is was Seattle, Texas, New York, and now it's made it's way to Denver Colorado.  What is it about REBarCamps that has them popping up all over the United States?   Is this the next biggest Real Estate Industry Phenomenon since Twitter or what?  Have you been to an REBarCamp?  Half the battle is just getting there.

What is REBarCamp? - See Kristal Kraft's explanation On TV~

"REBarCamp is a One-Day event where passionate real estate industry experts come together to share their knowledge peer to peer. Sessions evolve based on whatever topic one wants to share and whoever wants to learn."

REBarCamps are successful and growing because of one simple thing...people!  It's the "people" that make these things happen.  It's the "people" who sponsor them, and the "people" who put it all together.  It's the "people" who show up and share with others at their own expense.  It's also the social networking aspect that has turned these REBarCamps into a "must attend" the for the Real Estate Industry.  REBarCamp is more than just learning and sharing WEB 2.0 Real Estate Technology and tools, it's meeting and mingling with some of the finest experts in the Industry.

REBarCamp Denver Attracts Headliners!

There will be a "LIVE" streaming video from Broker IPTV, and a Twitter feed (#REBCDEN) so you can be there in "Virtual Real-Time."  I have a gut feeling about this one, it's going to be huge!  So Pack your bag, get in a plane, train, or automobile, and get your butt over there.  You don't want to miss "The Largest and BEST REBarCamp" in the history of these events.

I'm flying out to Colorado tomorrow to be part of this spectacular event.  I hope to share some photos, videos, and podcasts while I'm there.  Kristal Kraft and others have poured their heart and soul into putting this all together.  Please take a moment to stop and thank her and the others including all the great sponsors.

My prediction is that there will have been an REBarCamp in every state by the end of 2009

It's not just the sessions, presentations, and the event that make these REBarCamps so valuable, it's the connections and stuff that happens in the hallways, before, and after that can bring the greatest opportunities, value, and fun.  I'm looking forward to seeing you there, and if not physically, then virtually!  :-)

Tim - that's exactly what Kristal said, and look what happened.  Let us know when you decide to put one together, there are plenty of people in your area and abroad that would be willing to help.  (Big Smile!)

Oh, I am so jealous.  We just had our REbarCamp Charlotte which was really fun but we did lack the VIPs that you are going to have in Denver.  I just wrote a post about ours.  Thanks for sharing about the feed.  I will follow it if I have time!

So is this going to be the "Big Daddy", or the "MACK Daddy"!? LOL I'm gonna say it's the Mack Daddy. Sounds more important that way =P

Brad, so glad you posted this info! Hope you don't mind but I re-blogged it. It's going to be a one in a million event. It'll be nice to meet you...if out of the 460 or so people, I manage to find you! Like Kristal said, 'It'll be like Woodstock. You don't want to miss it.'

You guys in Denver are so lucky.  I just attended Rebar Charlotte and it was really good.  I only see one problem.  It was tough at times to decide which topic/discussion to attend.  It might be even tougher to do that in Denver.

Is there a list of where they are going to be in the future?  I really want to go!

Brad,

These camps seem to be gaining a serious head of steam. I'll do the virtual version of it now, but when it comes to Las Vegas I'll be more physical. Have fun.

Hi Brad,

I did recommend this rebarcamp to a title company rep. in the Denver area.  I will be going to REBar Camp Chicago:-)  One of my favorite cities.

4:51pm • #23

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is rebar camp and if you're a newbie and technologically challenged, is there one designed for beginners?

9:12pm • #24

Lora - REBarCamp would be perfect for you.  Whether you're new or an expert, it would be great!  The experts share, the newbies learn, everyone connects and networks, it's the place to be to learn about technology, social media, WEB 2.0 Marketing,  social networking, video, podcasting, RSS, and a ton more.  I have learned more at these events than anywhere else...accept ActiveRain of course.  :-))

Here's a Link that tells you all about it, what it is, where they have been, and where they will be in the future.

9:32pm • #25

Thanks Brad for the info.  The one that's closest to me of those scheduled is the one in Phili - but it's closed out.  I signed up for updates and will try and make it to one in the near future.

I'm heading to REBAR camp in Philadelphia on the 27th after attending my first REBAR camp in Fredericksburg, VA a little over a month ago.  One of the great things about this movement is that they spring up in areas relatively close by. I can commute. No plane fare, no hotel bill. Just the cost of the beer and burgers at the end of the day.

I like the smaller, more intimate REBAR camps (450!! Yikes).  That way you actually get to know some people and can talk one on one with some pretty knowledgeable folks without feeling like your standing in line to kiss the ring of the Pope.

Just my $.02

I watched REBCDEN on live streaming TV and it was great fun to be able to take part in that, if only for the one room where the camera was!  GREAT job to Kristal and all who put that one together

I had the great pleasure of attending REBCVA this past March, and will be attending the Philly REBarCamp this coming week, May 27th and REBarCamp Boston is June 11th.

There's plenty of action with REBarCamps going on on the East Coast - don't forget about us just because we're not on the west side of the country!  ;-)

I would encourage everyone to make it to a REBarCamp - the sessions are great, but the networking and meeting people IRL (in real life) is really just priceless!

Go - you'll be so glad you did!!

Thank you for all the AR tips and tricks. I feel like you passed on good info here in Denver at the REBARCamp. I agree with Diane above that the biggest problem is lack of time and too much to see. Maybe they could video all the classes so we could see what we missed.

Steven - thanks for taking time to comment.  I think REBarCamps will continue to evolve and just keep getting better.  I experienced the same dilemma at these events, it's just too hard to be in 5 places at once.  There is so much great information being shared, how do you get it all at from these events?  Maybe since they are FREE, people would be willing to purchase a video of the sessions missed at the end of the day, just a thought.

Brad - the REBarCamp in Philly was terrific. I learned so much about Twitter and using my Blackberry; just have to watch it while driving!

I suggest someone schedule one in Key West in February! Sign me up.

4:14pm • #51

I think every BarCamp is a success because of the people who contribute and share with those that show up.  It really becomes viral at that point and spreads to the geographic locations where these are needed most.  Try taking the ball and running with it to get one of these setup in YOUR area, it may be a bit of a challanege and some hard work, but it's certainly worth the time and effort.  :-)

Hi Debbie - I let Don know that the best way to get one of these going in your area is to go to the REBarCamp.com site and connect with some of the other AR members who have been instrumental in putting the events together.  They are very supportive and can send you in the right direction with the least amount of cost and the greatest amount of support. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help.  :-)
