Here in Brevard County Florida our rainfall levels have been low for sometime now. We have been on mandatory watering restrictions. We have been waiting on rain and it is finally here. It has been raining for the past 3 days and it continues to come down. It must be the rain dance that Mary Douglas did for us in Colorado!  Thanks Mary, we need it!

Reports just came in that some areas of Melbourne have had more than 6 inches of rain. The projection is that the rain will continue for at least the next 2 to 3 days.  This should alleviate the high risk of wildfires.

Our typical rainfall at this time of year is 11.93 inches.  I'm sure this should bring us up to normal levels.

The National Weather Service has indicated that more than 1/2 inch of rain per day is unusual in the month of May. So, now they are indicating that are rainy season is here early.

Hooray for the Rain

I was out earlier today, and came face to face with this guy.  I think I jumped about 6 feet. He wanted to get up close and personal and must have been displaced from his home by the the heavy rains.

I heard Flagler Beach up north got deluged too. Good for you Sandy as you need it. Love the frog.

I've heard of it raining cats and dogs, but never frogs, Sandy.  That's a new one!

A mini Jurassic Park there with this little guy!  Yikes, but makes for a very cool photo.  Nothing like rain after a drought, as long as it doesn't deluge.

Sandy I am so glad you are getting the rain your area so needed. That frog would certainly startle me, too.

Cool picture. Did you notice that the frog's eyes seem to follow you as you walk across the room?

Gary, The rain has cooled the weather down also. It's so nice right now.  We're fortunate.

Heather, These guys come out in the rain and start screeching at night. Their little voices can really be heard!

Chris, We are fortunate for the rain that we have received. This guy made for a great shot, didn't he?

Hey Miss Mary, Thanks to you little woman! lol. We have the rain we need (for now).

Hi Patricia, Well, let's watch and see!  He's kind of handsome already! LOL

Kathleen, Good news for us here in Florida.  We love it.

Hi Myrl, I can't imagine why an attractive, smart lady like you would still be looking for your prince charming. I would think that men would be lining up at the door for a date with you!  You are so sharp!

Caren, I was fortunate to get this close to this little guy.  We are hearing that the rain chance diminishes as we get closer to the weekend, so hopefully, we won't have rain for the holiday weekend.

Paul, That does, indeed, look like a happy frog.

Cheryl, I know they love to watch you with those big beady eyes.

Hi TO, We must take it as we get it. We are tickled with the recent rainfall.

I've haven't seen that much rain since the hurricanes of 2004.  Well at least that should put an end to all the fires.

Hi Rob, So true - it's unusual to get that much all at once. We had over 30 inches during Tropical Storm Fay.  I agree, I think it should put an end to the wildfire threat.
