Not-So-Wordless Wednesday - Can You Smell Danger?

By
Education & Training

The following photo shows an interesting display along Highway 212 in Joliet (26 miles North of Red Lodge).  The name of the artist behind this creation is Charles Ringer.  He is a very know artist in the area.  Lots of his creations can be seen at his gallery in Joliet but you can also come across lots of his works throughout Red Lodge, Montana.  Amongst his most popular works are the kinetic (animated) silhouette sculptures made of steel plates.  Movement is created through a pendulum effect which brings the silhouette sculpture to life.  You can see some of his kinetic silhouette sculptures displays in the windows of the Pollard Hotel in Red Lodge (they are a joy to watch and I remember how amazed I was when I first saw them).  To learn more about Charles Ringer and to check out some of his other interesting works of art, visit his website at www.charlesringer.com

I don't know why, but for some I reason I really like that photo. Someone had a good sense of humor.

That is great website Gerry, I love the 18' tall 'Creature'! From what I read the whole family is involved. How cool is that?

Andrea,

You are welcome.  You may want to check the website that I included in my post if you would like to add this kind of art (something from the same artist) in your front yard.

George,

I am glad you liked it.   Quite fascinating scene to look at every time I drive by it.

Dedra and Christi,

It must have quite an interesting party!

Cynthia,

I am glad you liekd this artist and took the time to read more about him and his family.  I do have a picture of the 18' tall creature and I will be happy to display on AR in the near future.   Very cool!

Charles,

It must be the one with the bottle in the hand.

Paul,

I hope they do not scare you as much as they used back then.

Jason,

We have got lots of interesting roadside art.  Check out the road sign art in the following post!
