The following photo shows an interesting display along Highway 212 in Joliet (26 miles North of Red Lodge). The name of the artist behind this creation is Charles Ringer. He is a very know artist in the area. Lots of his creations can be seen at his gallery in Joliet but you can also come across lots of his works throughout Red Lodge, Montana. Amongst his most popular works are the kinetic (animated) silhouette sculptures made of steel plates. Movement is created through a pendulum effect which brings the silhouette sculpture to life. You can see some of his kinetic silhouette sculptures displays in the windows of the Pollard Hotel in Red Lodge (they are a joy to watch and I remember how amazed I was when I first saw them).
