If you know me, you already know (aside from my Market Leader Posts) I have been M.I.A. here on Active Rain for a while.    I was one of the first, the early, the regular bloggers here on Active Rain.    As life gets busy, deals can weigh you down (wanting to give your clients your attention first), and all of this stuff!   I really feel like I have had writers block, or I guess that would be BLOGGERS BLOCK!   Being so used to writing GREAT blogs that would get attention, features, and comments, I didn't want to deliver anything other than my BEST me!  So I hesitated and avoided writing my blogs.  I miss so many of you guys (my friends) that I know on here, unless you are on Facebook, I have not communicated with you!

Today, I heard something that made me think of all of this and brought me to write this blog.   Someone mentioned, that there was an author that wrote a fabulous book, that had MAJOR writers block as he was writing the book, before it was published.  He said that he continued with a ritual and SAT in the same room at the same time, EVERY DAY... even if he didn't write anything at all!!

  • I know there are SO many great changes here (like the auto save feature - A GOD SEND)
  • So many new people to meet and connect with, learn from, teach, and grow with!!
  • So many people I have missed
  • So much knowledge that has slid by me....

I'm curious, have you had writers block? What did you do about it?

When is your best time to blog ?

Is it your regular daily ritual?

It's so easy to get sucked into reading, writing, and interacting with others here on a regular basis on Active Rain.... I could spend HOURS every day here!!!

When I get writers block I just procrastinate a bit until I forget what I was doing, then I dont feel bad that I am watching TV instead of writing.  A bad memory is a wonderful thing.

Katrina:  I think the thing that has saved me most often... is remembering that I can write about just about anything... and have it turn into a pretty good post.  It happened just tonight.  I was relaxing... watching TV... and a Hyundai car commercial came on.  It told all about the incentives Hyundai was offering to prospective car buyers.  While watching it... it hit me.  Why not do a blog post about sellers using buyer's incentives to get them off the fence... and turn them into buyers.  So... I did.

Writer's block can happen at any time.  And... the solution for writer's block... can come from anywhere... and also at any time.  Just be open to it.  It's kind of like the old idea of chasing a butterfly.  You could run... chasing it for hours, and get nowhere.  But just perhaps... you could sit down... with your hand open... and just perhaps... it might decide to land on your open hand.  Ya just never know where inspiration may come from.

Nice to see you again.  Take care...

PS... I think that's a new picture you are using.  I like it.  Ya look nice... but hey, you always did.  :)

It hasn't been as much writers block as head spinning...busy and moving to another broker is very time consuming...and to be effective, you have to make blogging a regular thing...a  habit...it was...it will be again...as soon as I catch my breath.. Sounds like Growth leader is growing...how I wish our MLS would wake up and smell the IDX line..
