I received yet another call on a seller who needs to do a short sale..as I heard the story I couldn't help but want to help...because its the same story over and over again.

Their life happened

You see they bought this house 5 years ago....both husband and wife are sick..so sick..they can't work...they are lucky to have food...fortunately they managed to stash a few bucks....well the bucks are running out and so is their time in their home.  Do people realize the expense of chemotherapy even with medical insurance?

They attempted a loan modification and again same story...the lender will not cooperate..one of the big boys that received their Bail Out!

I was really thinking do these people in Washington really understand what people are going through..hell what we as real estate agents are going through...trying to help people who want help but with little cooperation.

We tend to write many great articles here...reporting the facts in many cases...we tend to express our opinion but really what good is it doing?  We can all do more......

You really want to make a difference...well Obama wants to hear from you...at least that is what the White House claims....

Midori - Obama has a website that you can post and comment on. Maybe we should arrange one day for all of the ActiveRaines to comment on that website in one day and see what the response is.

Midori -

Indeed, spread the word.

Often, what SOUNDS good often leaves many gaps!  But, if we continue to press through, I truly believe we will be heard with greater chance than with the previous administration.

I forget - what was the old guy's name?

BO has to listen to me - I buy my corned beef sandwiches from the same deli he buys his corned beef sandwiches - Manny's on Jefferson Street, south of The Chicago Loop!

Laura-I don't know I would think it would be better to use the white house site...and yes we should all post articles on a selected day..brilliant.  Its not just Obama that makes decisions thats why I think it should be the white house site. They all need to hear and listen.....

Dean-Yes press forward that is the point! :)

That a great goal and I really hope he is the most successful President in our history.  We all need it.

Ok, so he wants to hear from us.  But what about more transparency in his administration?

"I was really thinking do these people in Washington really understand"

Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that they don't care.  The masses are used to get them in office and the political contributors are used to keep them there.

Unfortunately the White House (in my opinion) wants to hear from the labor unions, politicians, bankers....and themsleves.  They really do like to talk to hear themselves!

Too late. It's like the tea-baggers. Didn't mean anything in the overall scope of things. And alot of people who are in trouble had advice from realtors too.

I don't think they really care what we think.  After all, teacher, cop and firefighter pensions were tossed in favor of the UAW directly by the White House.  It is about appearances...

I really think that we can/should write a petition...I have affected change with my congressman and senator...mroe accessible...they know I vote...I have talked with them...President is a thought as well..I think we can do a lot as a group....we can't complain about the gov't if we don't use our voices to help and let them know what we need to have programs that work !

I discovered the huge expense of chemo from bloggers here on AR. A couple of them are no longer with us =(  But I was floored when I heard the cost. There's no way anyone's insurance could cover the costs of cancer unless they have military insurance. I'm just afraid to get my hopes up on anything when it comes to politics.

Hi Midori,

I'm glad you are discussing the subject. The government people just talk but do nothing. My present situation is the best example.

Thank you for support,

Eva

Midori, I"m sorry I missed this when you posted on it. I think it would be a great idea to ALL post on the White House web site one day all together, each giving a horror story of a personal client we have worked with.

You know what they say, if you have a great idea, "you are in charge!"

Well Midori, I guess it is better late than never on making a comment.  I agree with Missy on getting the word out to Washington and our Representatives and the President.  They do look at the numbers on a particular topic.

It is quite unfortunate that homeowners were victims of sickness.

If done right, the lenders always provided option of loan modification for the borrowers, especially when there is sickness.

Not knowing all the details about this particular homeowner(s) -about the financing- the government has launched a program(s) to help in financing.  One is done through outright REFINANCING.  The Other one is through LOAN MODIFICATION process.

So, folks, there are programs are already in place.

There may be other solutions depending nature of the homeowner's loan.
