Everything is as it should be: Take a little walk outside

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

Sometimes, it's good to get away, take a little walk out outside and clear your head.

Although the seasons change, plants bloom and die - the landscape and the land remain fairly unchanged.

In nature, things appear the way "they should be" and we are much more likely to accept those unexpected and wonderful things in nature, than those unexpected and not so wonderful things that occur in the real estate business: for instance, these recent phone conversations that have been, well, a little prickly.

prickly cactusApparently the listing agent is just super busy and said,"Oh, you emailed me too, didn't you?

"Yes, I did, Dear Listing Agent - and you didn't email me back, acknowledge my question- or get an answer for my buyer.....we're still waiting!"

~

"Yes, my Buyer, after being on the market for 287 days with no activity it is amazing that all of the sudden there are multiple offers on the table at the same time!

Sadly, your highest and best was neither highest nor the best."

 ~

"Mary, the seller doesn't have that much money to bring to the closing table, would you consider cutting the commissions?"

~

tree growing in rockThe list goes on ....but

Maybe your trials today have nothing to do with real estate - we all have them in our personal lives from time to time. and like a thunderstorm, we always appreciate the sunshine more -

Nobody likes a sad tale!  I think I'll go outside.  Sometimes, it's good to get away, take a little walk about and clear your head.

All of these matters will be resolved,              if a tree can grow from a rock, I imagine all things are possible.

There are days, when you just have to concentrate a little more on the tree and know that everything is as it should be.

Mary- glad to see that Spring has sprung in CO. Just got back from Alaska where the buds are just coming out. Got home in NC to see that all the flowers I planted before I left have grown and blossomed. Got home late yesterday and couldn't wait to walk in my yard today. It really does clear your head.

The heck with "real estate issues" when spring is in bloom.!

Hi Mary,

Oh the balancing act. I agree with you getting outside the box can get you back on track! We just took a quick trip to Costa Rica. We read, sat by the pool, got massages and I'm a new person!

Hi Linda! Finally! Spring!  How fun to come home and see your garden in full bloom!  I agree with you "the heck with  real estate issues"  they can wait ten minutes while we go outside :-)  Thanks Linda, welcome back to the lower 48 - I've missed you!

Hi Dorie, It is amazing what that break in the action will bring!  Costa Rica is quite a bit further than my "outside" - but it sounds wonderful!  So glad you got away and that you are a new person--- wait! I liked the "old" Dorie, too!!

So Mary, after 287 days of working hard on getting a sale, did you lower your commission? :-)  Your blog is exactly the reason I started vegetable gardening.  I spent every morning of the season, outside with my plants.  Now that the season is over, I have no idea what I'll do to "get away."  BTW, those people who didn't have enough money to "come to the table" are probably the same kind of people who got in way over their heads on mortgages.

Rock on. I just had a multiple offer situation on a property that had been for sale for 450 days and we got a counter for an offer $15K over asking price with and additional $2K earnest money. Who wouldda thought??? Fortunately, I spent today in Rocky Mountain National Park with my youngest son's 4th grade class. All is better.

Hi Terry! Gardening is a terrific escape..it seems strange that your season is over, while ours is just beginning!! The 287 days on the market property deal is pretty much dead -- we are in a backup position, and we did reduce the commission in order for the other one to close!

Hope you find something outside to do now that gardening is over!  Thank you for stopping by today Terry!

Hi Lisa! Rocky Mountain National Park would make anything better :-)  That place is so awesome, it definitely tells us "everything is as it should be" ! Glad you had a good day, and hope  that offer works out well!  Thank you Lisa, I appreciate you coming by tonight.

I read this with a chuckle, even though it's not funny.  It's just that you and I seem to live in parallel universes.  Come check out my blog of May 28th.  LOL

Mary - nice post and sometimes you do have to take a little walk outside to clear your head. I have had similar experience  with no activity for a property that has been on the market, my client wrote on it, and suddenly there are four offers . . . go figure.

You are a great inspiration and great to feed off of. (that sounds kind of weird, but you know what I mean)

It was so late last night (early this morning ) when I read this and went on to write my post.  What a shock today to find it was featured.

Thank you my friend.
