Sunday morning from my back porch—a short photo-tour of Saint Paul’s Riverfront

This morning we’ll take a little break from the antics of our two-dimensional cyber-selves and remain pretty-much connected to the real world (as connected as Med & I can be, anyway).

Medford & I are here on my back porch enjoying a beautiful Saint Paul, Minnesota sunrise, the temperature according to “Pruett’s Pig Powders” thermometer is a brisk 48ºF, and the sky is clear.

Yesterday, Med & I took a walk along the East Bank of the Mississippi River along Saint Paul’s lovely riverfront, and since we were grounded enough in the real world, brought along my little camera—so we could share a bit of what we saw.

Closest to me was Katherine Hepburn.  She lived here on the shoreline.  Paul Newman used to stop by here in his boat once in awhile.  Personally, I'd be just as excited to have George visit.

I wasn't aware Walter was from here, I assumed he was from NY. You guys have Pat Boone and Miami Vice.

Jay and Med, I had to look it up. Chief Justice Warren Burger was from MN as was Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Carole, here's the Ohio list:

http://www.50states.com/bio/ohio.htm

I pick Tecumseh, my uncle Dave that was a pilot of the Tin Goose (not on the list) that flew the great lakes islands, and Lillian Gish.  I just loved the name Lillian and remeber her in a flick or two.

I may have to go out and take a few bridge pictures for you.  We have an assortment around here, most are much smaller than yours.

The big mistake was when they moved to Baltimore.

Ok - I just said that to see if we could get the Baltimore crowd involved here.  I love Baltimore.

sheeesh, when I saw 62 comments I figured a hijack was responsible.  And I missed the whole thing.  ::sigh::  Oh well, it was still fun reading after the fact.  =)  and a big fat ROFL to Chris with her Walter comment.  Man, that girl makes my ribs hurt.

Now about your original post - I loved taking the tour!  It actually reminded me of all the bridges in NYC.  I didn't realize how much I miss them.  I have no bridges nearby now.
