Our new family has grown.....Yes the Deer Family

Look who came for a visit and to show off her children. Oh the beauty of nature! There was a third fawn but don't believe it belolnged to this doe as there was another doe watching as we took these photo's. These fawns are probably just a few days old and already running around like crazy and making that little bleep noise when they call to mom.

First photo is of mom - and then a photo of the twins - and then the other fawn by itself.

Keeps bleeping and looking for mom, wonder where mom is? It's time for dinner.

If you are moving tol Comal County Texas this is the time when the newborn fawns are born so watch when you drive so you don't hit one on the road; they try to follow the mom and aren't as fast and can't jump the fence and run out on the road.

Oh, that's so sweet!  I hope the one finds it's Mom; if not, you may have to adopt it.  We had a little deer like that for a short while when I was a kid.  We fed it peanut butter sandwiches...

    Howdy there Carl and Ceil

Y'all sure are fine neighbors, to welcome the new deer family to the neighorhood.

I'd say Y'all are right about them fawn's only being a few days old. I know the deer familys have a habit of eating your plants. But it sure is nice to have them stop by, when you can see them, and get some real fine photos of them. The little one sure are always a lot of fun to watch. Back home I had deer familys come by to visit a lot. Ya don't get to see the deers here too much. Most of the time ya only get to see one here and there. Have seen two at a time before. I was going down this one rode by home one time and seen right around 40 deer out in a corn field. That sure was a sight to behold.

The next time ya see them, say a low soft howdy for me.

Shirley - Thanks for stopping. They are really cute and run in circles and fast. It's amazing how strong they are and how well they get around. The mom parks them and goes off for hours and they stay right in place until she gets back. I guess all that bleeping is deer talk.

Kristin - The doe's like plants of couse (they love Ceil's plants) but like tortillas, watermelon, cantaloupe, all garden vegetables. They got in my garden the other night.

Dale - We enjoy watching them but Ceil is like a mother hen and worries they will get out on the road. We have raised a few. We have pic from years ago when David raised one when the mom got killed. He fed the fawn from a sode bottle. If Ceil cand find it we'll post it.

Hey Carl & Ceil, I love those pictures of the Deer Family.  A friend of mine lives not too far from us and she gets a lot of deer at her house.  She put a feeder up to feed them.  When the doe's are ready to give birth they come into her backyard and have the babies.  They know they can leave the fawns there and they'll be safe.  I love to go watch them from her back patio.

Hey Judi they are sweet but not when they eat Ceil's plants. We saw another newborn this afternoon, probably just a few hours old, everytime he would get up his little legs could hardly hold him up. They are staying pretty close to the house so I guess they are safe here.

Ricki they are sweet but sure grow up in a hurry. We really have too many and they are running out of places to stay since all these ranches are be subdivided.

    Thanks for stopping.
