- If you would like to be the captain of your own small yacht - rent a Duffy. Duffy Boats are electric boats and a great way to see Newport Harbor. These are extremely easy to navigate, and are very comfortable to cruise the harbor and enjoy the scenery. Be careful not to pick up any hitch hikers along the way however!

Also, if you are in a Duffy Boat, then you can dock it at a few restaurants in Newport Harbor if there is slip availability. These restaurants include the following:
Below is a map of Newport Harbor, and Duffy Boats.

- You can always go to the beach. You can find your piece of sand right on the Balboa Peninsula, and if you are looking to stay later and want to reserve a fire pit, then you will need to go to beach on the Peninsula at A Street. Or you can find the fire pits in Huntington State Beach, and the entrance is on Magnolia off Coast Highway. Make sure you bring your sun screen and swim near a lifeguard tower!
- How about a day trip or overnight trip to Catalina? Catalina is located approximately 26 miles from Newport Beach. You can take the Catalina Flyer. Enjoy a day on this charming island, with a golf course, glass bottom boat, snorkeling, Scuba diving, boating, and many more activities. Contact tix2fun.com for departure times and tickets.

- Do you want to try and surf? How about taking a surfing lesson in Newport Beach. Located right by the Newport Pier in Newport Beach at 26th Street, there is a surfing school named Newport Surfing School. However, please contact them for details and arrival times. Surfers typically surf pretty early to avoid the crowds, and to have the optimal weather.
