When thinking of your title for blog postings or for the <title> portion of your website pages, keep the number of characters under 90, be concise and use a combination of the geographical terms (San Diego, CA, California, etc.) with the most important product or service terms to your area of business (e.g. real estate, homes for sale, condos, etc.).

Why keep the number of characters under 90?

Thanks for the tip!

Any more than that can be viewed as spam and can cause search engines to stop crawling your website

Mike,

I struggle with trying to keep my blog titles intriguing yet SEO minded. It seems with home staging that most people are googling "home staging" or "home stager" with their city or state.

Blog titles that have either of these staging tags spell B-O-R-I-N-G to most AR readers. Thoughts?

Sue,

Try to think about fun words like transformation, re-birth, metamorphosis, etc that perhaps would bring some color to your titles, along with the cold hard fact of home staging - or unique selling proposition as it is referred to - like sold in a week after on the market for a year (if you have any great examples like that, that would greatly appeal to Realtors - and perhaps something regaring the increased sale value in comparison to other properties in the same neighborhoods and price range - hope this helps

Mike, does it matter where the tag "home staging" falls within a blog title for best SEO?

I didn't know that 90 char. rule, but it makes so much sense! Thanks!

Is it also the case that less used tags like "Marana, AZ Real Estate" will place you higher than the more used "Tucson, AZ Real Estate" - due mostly to the lack of competition for 1st page placement?
