it breaks my heart to see such an ugly kitchen remodel. sure, it might look hip now, but in 20 years that kitchen (and fireplace tile) is going to look like an ugly 80s remodel looks today. timeless houses deserve timeless remodels.
As people we all get tired of the same old thing. It is why we move, decorate, or a variety of things to keep us amused.
Paint colors on the inside and outside change, Carpets vs Hardwood Floors change. For the most part when it come to Real Estate, specifically for Renovators who Buy Homes and fix them up for resale they can only guess at what will please todays buyer.
In the past those who were afraid of expressing themselves, painted the interiors of their homes all white. Thank goodness those days are behind us.
As an active Real Estate Broker working in Portland Oregon since the early 90's and licensed since 1988 I have seen many homes come on the market several times and many of them have had two or three kitchen updates over that time period.
