Pippa, Those are so fun!  A number of years ago I ran across this car in the Walmart parking lot.  I thought they were off their rocker.  Then a friend told me it was an art car.  Who knows maybe we will see some of these on the street.

Hi Pippa, you have some of the most fun and hilarious photos from your local area of anyone here. The crapper wheels is a real hoot.

Pippa, thank you for sharing the pics, however, the art car parade is definitely not what it used to be.

One of the members of the group C.R.A.S.S. spewed the foulest profanities towards the crowd while skating down Allen Parkway during the parade.  Destinee Moore a member of the group C.R.A.S.S. had an outburst and cursed loudly towards the crowd and directly at my children.  At least six other families with children who were subject to her most vile behavior Saturday said that they were also offended.  Her behavior was offensive.  No one said anything to this woman.  She just started spewing profanity while skating down the road while tethered to the C.R.A.S.S. float, wearing a C.R.A.S.S shirt.  I really thought this was supposed to be a good natured family event, not a venue for its participants to spout vulgar words at a crowd filled with children.  Several little girls thought she was talking to them screaming things like, "(Profanity..get out of here, you're not welcome at this parade".  She made small children cry intentionally, it was cruel, unnecessary and shocking.  What an awful representation of the Orange Show and other good people involved.  I have attended the parade for 17 years and to have this type of behavior scar innocent children who were there with their families is a shame.  If this is a representation of the direction the art car parade is going, what a huge disappointment it would be to the other decent people who are involved and attend the event each year.

Dawn, I am sorry that you and several other families had such a bad experience.  My children and I did not have to endure anything like that.

Sorry to hear about that BUT overall this is even more fun than the previous posts!!! I have to tell you that this looks a lot more like Austin than the Woodlands. Then again maybe The Woodlands may be making some major leaps toward "COOL" LOL Have a good week my friend!

Sounds, like someone needs to be taking care of their children and quit posting the same thing on every website. There's probably a reason some one was screaming at her.

I take great care of my kids thanks. And for those of us with children, there is no justification for screaming profanities towards small children.

The comments made by Mrs. Frielinghausen are defamatory and false.  Orange Show has been contacted regarding these accusations.  Please remove these comments as they are a direct personal attack and use a person's full name.  The Houston Press and Houston Chronicle have both been kind enough to remove the spammed comment from their pages and removed DM's name from their websites (with one exception currently in process).  Thank you for your cooperation.

Nikki unless you would like to be sued for libel and slander, I suggest you keep your posts to facts not completely untrue and defamatory statements about me. No false statements were made by me about Ms. Moore. I represented facts. You made no true statement about me above, you represent lies from a criminal facing prosecution for what she has done. The facts are that Ms. Moore made some extremely inappropriate comments and does not think there should be consequences for her actions. If you choose to expose your family to vulgar language and people who scream profanities, you have every right to do so in private, don't bring it to a public event and expose those of us who are teaching our children values and respect to your CRASS brand of life. This is a parade about freedom of expression not a venue for your group to threaten, harass and violate other people's freedoms.

It's a shame that these folks chose a good will post to argue and fight in public. Please do not let this cat fight discourage you from posting future fun stuff!

Congratulations on some really neat photos!  As to the personal dialogue going on in the comments between some individuals, I would treat them as spam, since they have nothing to do with your post.

Pippa - I hate to say it, but now is the time to close the comments on this post.  These two women are obviously at odds with each other and have taken to hijacking your post to argue their point.  And we all know that the only one allowed to hijack a post on AR is TLW.  I'd close the comments if it were me.  Just sayin'.

Hi Pippa ---- this was a great post about a fun local event, why oh why do these two have to ruin it???  Just go ahead and delete their comments, and close it up like Carol suggested.

That's quite a wide interpretation of 'art'! Looks like a fun local event, but I still prefer the standard classic car show.

Hi Pippa, your photos are great.  I love all the creative effort people put into this type of 'car embelishment'. We used to have these type of events in Baltimore and they were WILD!

Its a shame one person can ruin it for everyone.  Cars look like fun though! My kids would have enjoyed it!

I love the crapper car!  and the "future" looking car that looks like a concept car of sorts...

The off the wall comments above, seem out of place on a blog that celebrates a bright spot in your town

Great pics - That looks like a really fun event!! I'd like to see it sometime.

Best, Dan

"too Busy to sock it to em", maybe?  8-)

Nice, makes me want to make a road trip to Texas even more so now. Heard theres some great areas for photography in the springtime & that just adds to it.
