Fun post and congrats to you for still being in the business in 2009 having started in 06 There is something to say for the new way we market even though we complainabout the Net often
Hey, I will not tell you how old I am but when I started we still used the MLS book, the big old tax books and I bought my first mobile phone! Times sure change.
I love the Internet. . .I taught a class one day about using the Internet to generate leads and one Realtor that has been in the business for years and barely accepted email as a new tool. .was amazed at the number of actions I could perform in 10 minutes. . .she was awed
Congrats on the growing team!
One of my first "real jobs" was as a switchboard operator / admin assistant back in the 80's. I still have nightmares about using carbon copy forms to type thiings in triplicate. Your post makes me smile.
The old days had some good points. One or two page contracts worked as well as the 50 page agreements we now use. Using carbon paper for copies was a bit messy.

Amy, digital cameras, copy machines, computers, MS Publisher, etc. make life a whole lot easier today than a few years ago. I wonder what we will be saying ten years from now about today's technology.
I can't imagine how much time that took! I do wish the general public did not have access to sites to look at houses - but that is the only change I would make.
Thanks for sharing. It is nice to go back and appreciate how good we have it right now. Also, appreciate the older people and their experience. They still have some life in them.
Ahhh, the internet! It's made our avenues for marketing a whole lot easier...and we're not talking a long time ago either!
Amazing how much has changed in the industry just in the span of a few years.....makes me wonder what the business will look like 2 years from now.
I remember those days well. Thank God they're behind us.
Thanks for all your comments. We should all be counting our blessings everyday, one of those blessings being how easy marketing is with the internet and great sites like ActiveRain.
