My aunt just called me. The results of the cat scan are in. They returned from the doctor's office with the news to confirm the cancer. Here is the post to catch up to where we are at in this story in case you missed it.
Both of his lungs have multiple cancer tumors. His chest has enlarged lymphnoids which are most likely filled with cancer. ( funny thing- he never smoked).
His doctor told him to go home and have fun. Just do whatever he wants to do with whatever time he has left. He was spending a lot of time reading obituaries and writing his own. He is trying to get everything in order so as not to burden anyone of his children and grandchildren. My aunt is making sure she is fattening him up a bit since he started to lose weight.
He is going to the oncologist next Tuesday who will see if my grandfather is strong enough for some spot radiation on the tumors.
I will be heading out to his beautiful California wine country in July to spend some time with him and my aunt. I will continue to run my webinars and write on my blog. It will be a good therapy and keep my mind busy as I fight off the inclination to curl up and go into a cave somewhere. Pity parties never seem to attract a lot of RSVPs:)
I know that he is going to be strong enough to spend time with me on this earth just a bit longer.
God has a wonderful plan for families being together again for all eternity and I know that my grandmother, his wife of over 50+ years ( I think it was even more than 60 yrs) is looking forward to welcoming him into her arms on the other side.
Katerina, Your trip to California will be the absolute best therapy for both of you. You are proving how strong you are by sharing this situation with all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
