I noticed other people's animated characters and thought I would give it a try.  What fun that was!  There wasn't an option to add a couple of pounds or a few wrinkles, but I was able to get the grey hair in.  I think I am going to have to put it on my Summit County real estate blog too, but maybe just in a post rather than the sidebar.  What do you think?

Is it perhaps not as professional as it should be?  Of course, my blog is all about the Mountain Living lifestyle, and skiing is a big part of it!

Joanne:  I'm impressed.  I played around with Meez for a while last week and had fun, but nothing as cool looking as yours!  Keep it and use it, by all means.

After I wrote the post I wondered if it is called a 'meez' or if that is just  the name of the website.  I guess the official name is 'anime'.

No wonder the kids have so much fun with Sims and their virtual worlds....

OK, I'm blonde. I tried to do this and couldn't figure out how to transfer it. Does it become HMTL?

Click on the export button on the www.meez.com website and then copy  the html code from the box "for blogs" and paste into your profile immediately after your copy in the "description"box . voila!  It shows up.  No one was more surprised to see it work than me!   I also copied it into the "my pictures" folder on my computer so I can use it elsewhere too.

Joanne,  I found a very awesome widget that we need to buy,  let me know if you like it, visit my website and let me know if you understood how it works  :)    I am still deciding if I get it or not :)

Was it Crazy Talk?  The only thing is it told me that I have to download a program to my computer for it to work, and I won't do that without knowing what I am getting.  Would that be an issue for some people?  I know it is for me...

Joanne, sometimes a little fun is what we need.  I think those are the cutest little things.  I've always seen them but never knew how to get them until now.  Thanks!  :)

Joanne ~ I love your Meez image!  It always amazes me how they actually come our resembling the maker!  How do they do that?

you do it...that is what is so nice!  They have a huge amount of things to choose from; even shoes, lipstick color, etc.  Of course, if you want to be slightly more beautiful than you already are, you can do that too ;-))

Joanne,
I figured out how to MAKE a Meez but not how to post it. I have no clue. Did you put the link into the blog description on the settings page? I'm a little lost.... (Not sure how folks get ALL the widgets onto their margins).
Thanks in advance!!!

I think I am going to do a summer one...maybe a hiker if I can find all the parts I need for it.  Why would I want one of me typing or working?  I do that enough already!

Hi Mary,

if you go to your profile and edit it, it gets pasted into the blog description immediately following the copy.  (That is the first box, not the second one that says "blog description text")  Html tags don't count to your 100 words, so if you are already maxed out on words it won't matter.  I will have to go to your blog and see what you did!  I am assuming you did the export thing ok and just need to paste it somewhere?

I'm going to have to go to the website and check it out. Yours looks great, good job.

Thanks,

Dave

I learned today that what I called a "meez" is actually an avatar.  Wikipedia defines it as:

An avatar (abbreviations include AV, ava, avie, avy , avvie, and avvy) is an Internet user's representation of himself or herself, whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games,[1] a two-dimensional icon (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities,[2][3] or a text construct found on early systems such as MUDs or currently on the wikipedia. The term "avatar" can also refer to the personality connected with the screen name, or handle, of an Internet user.[4]

Joanne-your meez looks great!  I just set mine up too last night.  I couldn't figure out how to add some weight on mine either, but figured it was a great inspiration of my after shot.

I noticed there is a track suit that is a bit chunky, but that was the only one.  I actually did a second "avvy" aka "meez" and tried to save both, which I did in the album on www.meez.com, but it switched the one I had exported to the blog to the new one I made and didn't intend to use here.  Oh well, I will leave the hiking one up for summer and go back to the skiing one for winter.  I sure do like that size 2 figure though!
