I Feel like I've Got Tape Over My Mouth

By

I thought it was my computer but now, after having the problem on three computers and reading some of the posts I guess it's a much bigger problem.

I can't leave any comments on ActiveRain. I'm also not sure this post will "take" - I had the same problem when trying to post that I have with attempting to leave comments - my cursor won't appear in the text box. The only thing that worked was to switch to HTML - of which I know very little - but at least I got a cursor.

It's so odd not to be able to comment - to be voiceless in the Rain. The interactivity here is a big part of the fun. Reading is good but I find myself bursting at the seams wanting to chime in by way of a comment.

I'm wondering if it's a browser issue since others do seem to be able to comment. I'm using Internet Explorer and truth be told, I'm a one-browser gal - I briefly tried using Firefox and need a class before I can deal with it so I think I deleted it.

Off to try to post this. Comment if you can!

Elizabeth, I use Firefox and have been having trouble all day--could not upload images and everything was extremely slow. I'm sure the "good guys" will have it fixed soon.

I can leave comments if I use Mozilla. Also could not upload pictures in any browser.

Hi Liz, oh, tape over the mouth is terrible. I use firefox for AR all the time, and IE for my MLS. It was a hassle in the beginning, but is good now.

I know how frustrating it is. I waited ALL DAY to post what I thought was a really awesome photo, and came up with a new game plan. I posted a description of the photo. Well, I think it went over like a lead balloon, but hey, I was just trying to be pro active and make lemonaid out of lemons.

Hope you get to comment soon!

Elizabeth,

My "Plan B" is for tomorrow's post to go today and my photo post from today for tomorrow - we'll see how that works out. :)

Hey, Elizabeth - Here's what I found out: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1091567/if-you-re-trying-to-get-your-activerain-comments-in-for-the-day-

I've gotten everything else accomplished today except for my ActiveRain tasks, so I'm going to town right now -- LOL.

I've been commenting for the past 30 minutes or so with no problem......using Firefox.  I have not tried to upload photos yet, I hear that is a problem as well.  Maybe I will save that until tomorrow.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I just broke down and opened Firefox (I'm serious - I need some sort of Firefox tutorial before I would use it regularly) and it is such a relief to be able to comment again.

Hi Liz!
I am so glad I am not the only one who couldn't figure out Firefox...I gave up...never did find where to write a post in...what is it called...scribefire....or something like that!

Hi Charles ~ If it's fixed that's great - I could go back to IE>

Hi Paula ~ So many people rave about it but it drives me nuts.  It does things I don't want it to do and I can't figure out how to do things I need to do - it's more than I'm willing to take on.  When I had it running there was only one website left that was opening in IE - and I lived in fear that it would switch to Firefox too - so I somehow got rid of it. I really don't understand how to switch from browser to browser.  I was just going to keep it simple with IE until tonight.

Firefox saved me yesterday, Elizabeth. Glad to see everything's been fixed for today. AR is so great about addressing issues quickly. All the best!

Hi Kim ~ I can only imagine the havoc when 1000s of us start emailing them just as they're trying to get things up and running.  Wonderful to be back in business!

GOOD MORNING ELIZABETH!  Let me know how it goes with Firefox -- I haven't downloaded it yet either!  But it sure is a nice back up! -- Gabrielle

Hi Gabrielle ~ I used it during the AR glitch but can't really hack it for everyday use.  When I first downloaded it it took over all my web activity until I had only one shortcut left that would still come up in Internet Explorer.  This time I caught the screen where I declined having it become my default browser.

I just don't like tabs - I don't get 'em, they irritate me, and I don't feel a need for them.  Firefox seems to be based on tabs so I can't figure out what the he** is going on when I try to use it.

I tend to come from the if it isn't broke... school.  I'm still unhappy that I don't have Netscape anymore.  I've never liked IE nearly as much as Netscape but since having it forced on me I've become accustomed to it.  I simply don't have enough time (any time!) to learn new tricks if I don't have to.

We had to download Firefox on our computers here in order to get our ActiveRain play in. Firefox doesn't like us though, making our computers run excessively slow and not liking our voice recognition software. We used it and then uninstalled it; back to supervast Internet Explorer.

Hi Jim ~ Enough people seem to like it that if I could learn how to use it I wouldn't mind switching back and forth. For now I'm also back to IE.
