In the process of registering your domain you’ll generally be given quite a few “extension” options to choose from. The extension determines whether your domain ends in .com, .net, .org, etc.

This was good. If you choose a .net or .info url you really do need to consider what would happen to your traffic if someone accidentally typed in .com. Would they recognize they went to the wrong site?
