FANTASTIC TOOL FOR SHOWING PAINT COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By
Home Stager with Salazar Staging & Custom Interiors

In my ongoing effort to help homeowners see the value of painting, I was very happy to come across Sherwin Williams online color tools.  Their website offers a great and easy way to show clients what a huge difference paint can make.  You can select an unpainted room, like this living room.  THen all you have to do is select paint colors.  You can drag the color(s) to the walls/trim and accent pieces.

Or you can show multiple colors:

Or even just an accent wall:

Go to http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/ and have at it!  THis tool is so helpful.  In addition to allowing this free play with paint, there is an email feature that allows you to send the different pictures to your clients.  Benjamin Moore has a great tool for this as well, but unfortunately does not allow email and therefore, has not been nearly as useful as this one on Sherwin Williams.

Remember - paint is the least expensive way to make a dramatic difference!

If you have any questions about how to use this, email me at news@salazarstaging.com

Hi Mel, I received SW email about this feature but have yet to give it a try.  Thanks to your sharing, I'm headed there today!

Ginger,

You will love this tool!  I just convinced a design client to paint his living room navy.  He absolutely could not visualize this even though I kept telling him it really was just another neutral 'with interest'.  This is also great to use on a laptop if you're meeting with a client and want to show them immediately.

Hi again Mel, in looking back at my e-mails I received one from Behr (not SW) that said you could upload you own photos (wouldn't that be a plus) and then paint.  Now I remember why I hadn't really attempted it.  If you would like to try it, here's the site:http://www.behr.com/Behr/home#

It isn't very intuitive and I cannot figure out how to make it work.  With time maybe I will and then I will do a post on it.  Most paint companies have this same feature as SW but as you say they won't all let you e-mail them.

Thank again. Ginger

I have found that the sites where you paint your own rooms, are difficult to deal with.  This Sherwin Williams site is the most user friendly one I've come upon.  I guess if you have a color printer, and want to use the ink, you could print the Benjamin Moore rooms and then show your clients.  However, the paint to ink process will no doubt obscure the color so much that it wouldn't be worth it.  Also, it's so much easier to be able to just email a pic that displays the colors being considered.

This is a great tool - it turns fear of color into passion for color!  I just found a new tool last night on space planning - all these help so much!  Thanks, Margaret

Thanks Melody!  I will be sure to check it out. Certainly helpful if the client is having trouble visualize the color.

Hi Melody, I had yet to try one of these programs. As any one that knows me I am usually the person that cannot figure how to use one of these programs. I know the little four year old girl on TV can do it, but she can't do what I can.   This program was so easy to use, I had it working the first time I tried. Kudos to Sherwin Williams for giving us a program so easy to use. I will be showing my resdesing clients this today.

Thanks for the post, most enlightening.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful tool with us. Wouldn't it be great if we could scan our photos and use this tool? Perhaps technology will catch up with it.
