Its amazing this kind of customer service would never make it in the real world. This is what happens when the govt is running things.
Tammy --- broken record tactic! sometimes people give up the 5th, 10th, what ever time they hear the same phrase. of course that is the bureacratic MO. thank goodness you just kept hanging in there. I'm guessing DC is shorthand for the District of Columbia -- in other words she talked to someone in the government HQ.
Aaron- Yes it does. From banks to walmart, from AT&T to Dillards (who used to pride themselves on great service) I've run into more rude and stupid people lately who just don't care. People (and in general young people) just don't take pride in their work. I took pride in my work when I was a waitress in college.
Alex- Well whoever she talked to I hope had more common sense than she appeared to. Good thing that A- I don't know where Carrollton Texas is located and B- it's to far for me to pay her a visit when this is closed.
How sad that you had to be a squeaky wheel to get the title. This should have been a slam dunk.
You go girl! That's telling them. Human robots can be so exasperating! Reminds me of a conversation I had just the other day with a title rep. where I ended up teaching the robot how to read a prelim title report. SERIOUSLY?
It's always fun to deal with automatons; it makes things more dull exciting, doesn't it?
Tammie. Nothing is more frustrating than working with Banks EXCEPT working against the government. An acquaintance of mine that works for the government is ashamed to say that the government workers are actually encouraged to "take their time" on most projects.
Tammy...
Sorry to get in so late on this, but I have been very busy lately. I love the way you spun this tale...and the way you described an immovable bureaucrat is just so right on the money.
This was one of the best posts that I have read lately. Very entertaining with an important message, and well deserved Gold Star.
More please!
Tammy, it sounded like dealing with robots in this situation. Very frustrating.
Gotta love the GA DMV! I went to renew my license about a year ago and they said that it couldn't be renewed because it had been cancelled by the state. I said that was impossible because I had just received a ticket from the State Patrol. Don't you think they would have taken me away had a been driving without a license! Long story short, they switched one of my ss #'s and I had to prove I was who I said I was.
Tammy - Congratulations on getting the job done. I've been dealing with an offer on a Fannie Mae foreclosure and getting nowhere!
Marchel- One would think that huh?
Donne- I hate when the person you are talking to does understand something that is supposed to be their job. How did you get hired? you want to ask.
Christine- It is kind of like talking to a brick wall.
Mark- My husband works for the state, but he's a prison guard and he's NOT encouraged to take his time. But I am sure there are those who are.
Richard- I have MORE. I think my next post is a must read. I'll work on it later tonight. And Thanks. Coming from you I really appreciate the compliment.
Gary- Just a little. But I like winning.
Darrell- kinda frustrating I know
Kate- My sincere best wishes are with you. I hope you work it out.
You did pretty well Broker Tammy talking to that government drone! If it's the government - it doesn't make sense. The banks now operate like the government too.
Tammy, I love this post! It's not really funny, and I am laughing so hard! Congrats on the feature.
Lyn- isn't the government now a part owner of the banks? I'm just sayin!
Patricia- I won so you can laugh. Today was without exception the worst day in real estate... EVER. But I'm sure I'll be laughing about it later.
Sometimes I am glad I have a unique and long name. But I have been through these types of issues to. Call your Congressman, sometimes you can get help, but I do not think they are as effect at helping constituents as they used to be.
Gene- My US representative follows me on Twitter, maybe I should give him a tweet out! But I think you are right. I think the days of calling your congressman to get help are over.
I don't think most federal government employees are paid for performance. Once they get a position, it seems to be an entriely different perspective that they operate from.
Well at least they had memorized their scripts -- LOL.
I was once trying to close escrow on a home and needed a termite waiver since my lender would allow that and I could take care of the minor damage. Once I finally got the waiver, I just needed a little document that said something like "Client waives termite requirements." The clerk told me that she couldn't print such a document it wasn't in her job description. I walked next door to my office, quickly typed up a document, printed it out, signed and dated it, and took it to the escrow clerk with the snide comment, "It's not in my job description, either."
