Jackie, congratulations!!  I have been thinking of doing that designation for awhile. Recently I was at a CRS class in Sacramento and a gentleman at my table had his CIPS too (sorry, I don't have his card next to me and am not recalling his name). Anyway, I asked him if it had made a difference to his business and he said, "yes, right away I began to get referral business after I met agents in Paris". He sold me!  It is now on my list of things to do after Project Blogger. Are you coming to SF for Blogger Connect? I would love to hear more about it if so. I'll be there.

Mary...I am definitely coming to SF if I win!! ha ha  I am going to the NAR convention in Las Vegas in November and the FAR in August. You should read all the requirements for the CIPS designation as it is a little more complicated than any other designation..you need 100 points in other "things" besides the education requirement.  I think the people who are successful with the CIPS are the ones who make a point to network on an international level. I belong to the local International Council and  I am going to the International Congress next month. I am planning to do 3-4 international conferences each year.  I will tend to refer business to agents that I meet vs. picking them out of a directory. I already referred someone to a fellow classmate in Austria.

If you decide to get the CIPS, take the classes in a foreign country...that is where you will start networking with agents from other countries.  There were only 4 Americans in my class in Vienna! I could have saved money by taking the class in Denver or Honolulu, but I would not have made the same connections with foreigners.

Jackie, thanks. I will check it out. I appreciate the head's up. I will have to check the schedule and see when/where the classes are offered. I speak Italian (almost fluently) and so any excuse to go to Italy is one I want to take!

Whether you win or not, you are doing a great job with your blog(s). Keep up the great work and  hope to see you in SF!!!
