Thanks to our Men and Women in uniform, I was able to enjoy a great past time.  I spent many hours on the lake fishing.  My favorite is Large Mouth Bass.  But, when fishing, you never know what you will get.  Case in point...

This Northern Pike was 30 inches long and weighed just a bit over 7 lbs.  ( Scouts honor) I was throwing a Bass lure.  Normally I  release fish this size, but this one will go on the BBQ for a different type of recepie.

I went out in search of some Crappie's.  Great table fare.  This slab is 14 inches and 1.5 lbs.  It only takes 10 of these to make a dozen!  (OK a little stretch of the truth...that's what fishermen do!)   This one I am having mounted.

After catching my limit of Crappies, releasing another 9or 10 Bass, I hooked into a large fish.  Again, throwing a Bass lure, this fish quickley told me it wan't a Bass.  Another Northern Pike, this time 34 inches and 10 3/4 lbs.  ( I have no picture as I did have my camera, but left the memory card in the cabin).  This one was released to fight another day.

All in All, it was a great fishing weekend and some good eating.

I have never caught a fish larger than 4 pounds, and that was a bass while I was fishing with my step dad. Wish you had a picture of that 10 pounder.

Bill...

We don't have Northerms here in the south, but lots of crappie and they are the best eating fish around!

Richard...I love the taste of Crappies.  11 and 12 inchers i have caught before, but 14 is beyond anything I had on my line before!
