The fine citizens of California must not have got the memo. Right now we are all supposed to be paying more taxes so that our government can fix all of our problems. Every problem on Earth can be solved be throwing money into it.
So the people of the State of California turned down their Gov's bright idea to have them shell out some more dollars over the next umpteen years. No problem unless you are already strapped. In a state that has one of the highest cost of living indexes in the US as well as one of the highest unemployment figures, the answer to all problems is probably not to charge the folks more.
Today, the Gov and his office comes out with the usual scare tactic. "If you jerks do not want to give up more of your money, we will be forced to close down parks". I know, I know. Old People will die, cops will be fired, schools will be closed.
Maybe Arnold and the Leg in CA land should earn their pay for once. Cut is the magic word, but not school, parks, and cops. Cut bureaucrats. Go to the DMV and fire anyone caught playing solitaire. That would save the state a lot of cash. Cut all pay to legislators, including all perks. No money to them. Period. Cut overtime and overtime pay for any state employee. Period. Tell the Teachers Union and the Correctional Officers Union to take a hike. No reason to pay people more just so they can turn around and give money to union rep. The union reps and officers can go sell cars again. Lower all state sales taxes and income taxes. This list could go on and on, but here is a clue- Take a look at your neighboring states. They seem to be doing it. It works, try it.
Kevin,
I am on board with you!! CUT!!!!
