Mark your calendar's, put the kids in their seat belts and throw the lawn chairs in the trunk. Saturday June 20th marks the 10th annual Turkeyfoot parade and benefit auction. What started with a group of about 12 people who donated their time and vision has grown into a year round endeavor to help local Hospice charities and Children's Shriner's. All proceeds raised go to Caring Hearts for Hospice, Hardin County Hospice, Tri-County Hospice, Wilson Hospice and Shriner's Children's Charities. When good things happen, good people respond.

The parade starts at 11:00am from Logan Landing. Arrive early if you plan to register and enter the parade. As always, they will have the famous Antioch Shriner's units. I'm also sure you will see some wildly decorated golf carts from some of our own local citizens. The auction will start approximately 30 minutes after the parade at the Tilton Hilton. There will be a lot of nice items all donated by caring individuals, businesses and organizations. Make sure you get your raffle ticket for the 2004 Yamaha street legal golf cart. It has been completely refurbished and it is one hot looking vehicle. There will also be a 50/50 raffle along with other raffled items.

The Benefit Crew will also host a Bass Tournament on Aug. 30th at the Moundwood Boat Launch. All proceeds go to Hospice and Shriner's. For more information on the bass tournament and other fund raising events hosted by The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew please visit their website at www.turkeyfootcrew.spruz.com.

To those individuals not familiar with Indian Lake, but are thinking of joining the fun on the 20th, Turkeyfoot Point is located on the north side of Indian Lake on Twp. Rd. 293. Just follow St. Rt. 235 to the north side and it will get you there.

Congratulations to The Benefit Crew and the excellent job they perform. It is one of caring and passion. Thank you to everyone who donates to and supports this great cause.
