Today while driving home, I decided to make a detour and go to a store that I needed to go to. I've only been there once and it was probably 10 years ago. But on the way I got a glimpse of this huge concrete thing. What the heck was that. So I had to check it out. Down this warehouse district road was a concrete manufacture that made well... concrete people. I've seen some of these heads along I-45 not too far from downtown Houston, and the Sam Houston statue that is 67' in Huntsville, TX. This place had what looked to be all of the Presidents heads, and a band in the back. Is that the Beatles? Either way, these things are gigantic, that's a huge warehouse behind the band. I just had to snap some quick photos.
Aww, was curious and did some research, they are made by a company called Sculpturworx and the sculptor is David Adickes. These are going into a Presidential Park in Pearland that plans on drawing 2 million people annually. They are 18' tall.
The Beatles are 7000 lbs each and 36' tall. The Beatles statues are being moved to property Adickes owns on the south side of the freeway near the Shepherd exit.
