Due to recent bond increases, there is now great pressure to raise fixed rates in Canada.

If you have clients who are house shopping now, without mortgage pre-approvals, encourage them to negotiate their mortgage rate now.  Some lenders will lock a mortgage rate for up to a maximum of 120-days.

This would also be a good time for those who have mortgage renewals coming up in the next 120-days.  If you typically take a fixed rate mortgage, lock in now before rate hikes hit.

Oh yes they are! Thanks for saying it 'outloud'! Too bad this isn't the headline on the nightly news but it needs to be our headline! I still find lots of folks waiting "to see" if we are at the bottom...it's the combination of Price and Payment that matters...rates are a HUGE part of the payment formula!

Been saying this for months and it will go a lot higher. In the long run, we are going to pay twice. The tax credit is going to be a drop in the bucket. The interest rises will eat that all up and a lot more.

Good.  Maybe now the public will see the light enough to know they can land on the ground from the fence without getting hurt......
