We are making a scrap book for my sons graduation, if you have any advice for a senior that graduates in 3 days we'd love to hear your advice from others . He is going to try for Air force as a pilot and college in Aviation, and I'd love to give him advice from other parents, militry esperience, military parents or just general advice from others. Thought it would be neat for him to see how many people really care about the seniors that are graduating and what other parents have to say to seniors. Have fun!!!! Matthew is 18 and a senior at Travelers Rest High School in SC, he is a great kid that loves Jesus with all his heart!
Hi Kathy. I have not seen you write here in quite some time.
I was wondering what happened to you recently...
Thanks for writing and congrats on the graduation.

Hi Kathy,
I am a military mom and my youngest son joined the AirForce he was 17 going on 6 years ,just 3 days after graduating high school he left home and was sent to Texas. It was the best decision he ever made in his life and I am very proud of him and at the same time it was hard for me.
He didn't call home for 2 1/2 weeks and everyday, I waited for that call.
I remember his first phone call when he was at boot camp and time was limited and he said mom please listen,I am ok please get a pen and here's my address and please write to me. At that point,
I wrote to him almost every day. It is a very big step and a difficult time. Again, my advise to you is when you get that call please share his address with family and friends,so they can write to him regularly.
My greatest experience, when I went to Texas to see the graduation and I watched my child stand so tall together will all these incredible boys & girls and my son was holding the flag from the state of Maine....
It was pretty amazing. Now he resides in Spain with his wife and my 2 beautiful grandaughters,he is now at the age of almost 24 a drill sergeant.
Best wishes....And God Bless

Congratulations on earning your High School Diploma!
Remember that life is a journey. As you venture onto each new path it may lead you to, weigh your options very carefully and trust the advice your parents give you... you may not always like it,understand it, or agree with it, but it is based on something you will eventually have ...experience.
Best of luck to you in the future- and stay safe!
