If you leave a comment, Jim will visit your blog and leave a comment.Leadership East County is currently recruiting for its "2009 Cohort."

Leadership East County, beginning its nineteenth year, is an issue-oriented leadership development program whose purpose is to promote, provoke, inform, motivate, and insrease awareness of existing and emerging leaders who are dedicated to bettering the region.

Participants, selected from a cross-section of East County, interact with community decision makers through seminars and study groups to become aware of the assets, needs, and problems specific to our area.

Brian Gray, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, considers Leadership East County to be the defining program in East County for those seeking to improve themselves both professionally and personally. According to Brian, eleven past "Citizen of the Year" award winners have participated in Leadership East County.

Applications for the 2009-2010 program are being accepted through July. Visit the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce web site or call 619-440-6161 for more information.

Jim have you participated in this leadership program?  I think it would be great if you haven't.

Hey, Joan - I have not. Are you trying to tell me something? LOL This is the first time I've heard of it, but with my career as a Realtor and my involvement at ActiveRain, I'm more and more on the lookout for these types of events, hoping to get to some of them myself.

Programs like that are even more valuable and needed when the economy is sour.
