One of my Blogs (no it isn't on Activerain) is well optimized and secures good Google results for most posts. I also use software that communicates with Google when I post so speed of indexing is often pretty good. I found that this target had posted on page one of Google two hours after posting along with some bookmarking and referring links.

Here's the result:

 

I used a screenshot because the initial placement will soon drop. I use this technique to determine the resistance in place for a keyword. That helps me determine the effort I can expect for future placement or higher coverage or domination of top pages.
