Use Your Super Power Today, And See What Happens

By
Home Stager with Sharon Tara Transformations

We all have it, a super power that doesn't get used anywhere near as often as it should.  A power so strong, it can change the world.  What would happen if we all used it, on the same day?

How about we all use our SUPER POWER today?

You have the power to make someone smile and you could change their day, possibly their whole week or even their life, with just a few words.

happy guyThe best part is how simple it is...

A genuine smile and compliment directed at a stranger is a powerful thing.

Has it happened to you?  Have you been lucky enough to receive an unexpected compliment from a stranger?

It can change the direction of your day and, even better... it is contagious!  They just might pass it on to others!

How about today we all slip into our "Captain Compliment" suits and pledge to change the day of one unsuspecting stranger.

There is a great side effect, too,  you just can't help but feel better yourself when you are smiling!

Take that beautiful smile of yours out today and change the world!

Roy:  Today you can make a difference in someone elses life!

Sheila:  I was going to say "all you need to wear is a smile" but that just doesn't sound right!  I think that's for a whole different topic!

Laura:  I hope you were able to find some people to compliment today!  I would love to hear the results of your good intentions.

Ginger:  What a fabulous idea!  Landscaping is a lot of work and a big investment.  It would be nice to know that someone not only noticed, but cared enough to take the time to send the card...I think you win the "Captain Compliment"  award for today!

Thanks for your post. it is so true how a smile and a compliment can change a person's attitude. I always say if you smile people will usually smile back at  since you act as their mirror.

Kathleen:  Good point, it's hard not to smile when someone is smiling at you and a negative person can bring the whole room down!  Thanks!

You are so right, a smile and a sincere compliment are so powerful.  Even though I've been on the receiving end of this generous gift many, many times, it still never ceases to stop me in my tracks and boost my spirits.  And I hope I have shared this gift with others even more often.  This is definitely one area where it's hard to decide which feels better--being on the giving or the recieving end.

Smiles to you!  And thanks for taking the time to share a bit of yourself through your blog--I've really enjoyed ready your posts and getting to know you.

What a great post Sharon!  I hadn't read this one and it sure makes sense.  I'll never forget when this happened to me. I can remember walking, along, in Glendale looking at antiques.  A man climbed off a roof, cut a rose, and walked up to me and said, "a pretty flower for a pretty lady."  He then walked back to the house and climbed the roof and started working again.  Since I was going through a very sad time, he must have sensed.  I'll never forget his act of kindness.

Thanks to Russel for re-blogging your post and for that very nice memory!

Sharon: I love people's reaction when I offer a sincere, unexpected compliment: Nice outfit, that color is great on you, etc.  Also have been thinking about sending a note to a couple of families that have landscaped beautifully or added a lovely new fence, etc. I though it might be silly, now am re-thinking. Thanks to Russel for highlighting your wonderful post!

Jan:  What a sweet thing for that man to do.  It would have made my day.  Funny how easily small acts of kindness can shift the direction of our day.

Sheila:  That would be very interesting to see it get featured after all this time, LOL!  Thank you!

Valerie:  I had forgotten about this post, and I enjoyed seeing it again!  What a gift from Russel!

Anne:  Do it!  Send those letters!  Think of how happy it will make the recipients.
