How fun is that. As a kid I would have wanted to try to take a tube over it!

your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!

Gail - that would certainly be a refreshing place to be in the humidity we have been having last week.

North Georgia, I miss it so...well actually the whole state. I am now homesick. Great pic Gail!

Morning Charles...there were kids and adults alike tubing down the river.  We sat having wings and pitchers watching them having fun.  It was very pleasant, I love the North Georgia area.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Mike...There was a big difference in climate when we got back.  We had rain but not like here and minus the intense humidity.  We were out every day and didn't get rained on, it was pretty perfect :-)

Hi Don...yes busy...having fun.  We spent the week in North Georgia with friends and had a marvelous time.  Didn't get enough pictures though!

Hi Gail, that is very serene for this Sunday morning. The water doesn't even look like it's moving..it's a smooth as glass until it spills over!

Gail - Very nice image.  This reminds me of my neck of the woods here in Middle Tennessee.  All the best.

Ride over it..?  No thanks....I've seen those "caught on tape" shows...where people think a waterfall looks fun... and it turns tragic.. Hey...beautiful photo though :)

Hi Gail, looks like a good place to catch some cat fish. It's nice to get away once in a while. Glad to hear you had a good time.

Gail,

Great shot with a lot of dynamics - the still water, the landscaping, the falls - very nice. :)

Hi Bill Saunders....hey, I've been to Hot Springs AK and there is some really pretty country around you.  But home is home so I know what you mean.  I hope you get back to Georgia soon :-)

Morning MaryRedFeatherHead...thanks for stopping by so early this morning, hope you're having your coffee. We had been to Helen during our motorhoming days and it was really fun to revisit.  This was at Nora Mill where they still operate their gristmill.  If you're interested, here's a little history.  http://www.noramill.com/store/history.php

Hi Kenneth....it is very much like Tennessee, another of my favorite states.  Thanks for stopping by and glad you like the photo.

Hey Debi....Have a great day today, don't work too hard.  I LOVE your SS picture today, awesome :-)  Don't remember Hamms beer, I'm Canadian eh!  Glad you stopped by.

LOL @Janice....just watch your butt on the rocks ;-)  For obvious reasons they stop the tubers prior to getting to the falls.  But oh.....the temptation, I was a dare-devil kid too....LOL

Hi Konnie....not even a little bit tempted, just a little...LOL  Good thing we can appreciate from a safe distance.  Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Sunday :-)

Gail,

Waterfall shots are difficult. They can either be interesting or totally boring. This one is gorgeous.

Gail, the state of Georgia has a lot of nice natural streams and rivers. You captured a very peaceful scene with this one! Unless your canoe is headed this way ; )

Morning Kathleen....LOL, if he does let me know...I'll grab the camera and we can post him on Active Rain.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Cynthia...Next time we pass your way, I'll try to allow some time to stop in for that glass of wine - something to look forward to, thanks!

Hi Shirley....Not too old, just not reckless, LOL!  This fall was very nice as it wasn't a huge roar but more like a nice rush :-)

Hi there John Mayer....glad you like shot.  Unfortunately I didn't get to take that many pictures.  Being 1 of 4 means having to share the time.  We had a great time though, and I might have another pic or 2 ;-)

Hi Kristin...nice to see your smiling face as always.  I love watching water myself, it carries me along with dreams.  Have a great week.

Hello Caren my buddy.....I would sit there with you in some comfy chairs with a glass of wine and chat the day away.   Ummmm....sounds like fun.

Good Morning Michael....while we were having a late lunch on the river there was a fly fisherman who caught 3 good-sized trout.  He kept them, I didn't think fly fisherpeople did that...shows what I know about fishing.  I really think he worked for one of the restaurants and was provided the catch of the day ;-)

Hi Steve...YAY, he likes it :-)  Love your comment too, I like the analytical take on photography.

Hi Richard...Thank you, that's very generous of you.  I've missed seeing your SS postings, I know your busy.  Wishing you all the best success :-)

Hi Tony....my understanding is that the water was quite chilly.  The tubes did have bottoms, so bottoms didn't freeze.  Have a super week.

Hey GW...not me, that would be Kathleen's husband in his kayak.  I'd opt for the tube that stops prior to reaching the falls (after the water warms up ;-)  That's a pretty big rock you see there!  We loved it in North Georgia, it really is beautiful....I would love to spend more time in the area.

Hi VB....Good to see you, you're looking well ;-)  It was a lovely spot right at Nora Mill in Helen GA.  We bought some of their pancake and biscuit mix.  Their products are very tasty.

Morning Tammy.....ready for another week, I've got to get going myself...but have to catch up here.  I think you should sneak away for a weekend.  I'll have to look it up and see where Eatonton is in relation to where we were.  You probably have some great falls by you!

Hi there Sheldon.....heaven is always within our reach, we just have to remember to take it.  It sounds like you're starting to settle back into a good routine after being slammed with so many competing tasks. Good job :-)

Hi Russell....you sneaky little swimmer you!  I remember you doing that last year (at least once) hope you do it more this summer.  It is hot right now....93 for us today :(  Not my favorite time of year, but May was very pleasant....so here we go into the summer!

Hi Marchel...I see that now that you mention it.  I love waterfalls too, all that power puts me in my place :-)  Have a great week.

Hi Russell...I seem to remember Barton Springs as been a frigid shock, oh I was so tempted to say something like....your not getting any younger, watch the old ticker, the shock can do bad things, but I won't......winking

Mr Don....your are such a tsk-meister.  What if I don't wanna???

Hi Rita....We have had our share of rain as well.  But it's just fine as our drought conditions have been eased tremendously.  Summer's here, hopefully you'll have time to play in the water!

Hi Sandy....It is a great drive and a very pretty area your parents live in.

Mary...you're chair is waiting as is your Shiraz, don't forget your camera :-)
